We recently visited Summit, Spencersport NY last week to look at a used car for my elderly mother. Based on our research, the price was fair but not exceptional. What truly stood out, however, was the disappointing level of customer service we received from the salesman. From the moment we met, the salesman’s demeanor was surprisingly unfriendly and dismissive-quite unusual for someone in sales. Throughout our interaction, he made us feel as though he was doing us a favor by simply speaking with us, rather than treating us as valued customers. After test-driving the car and expressing genuine interest, we inquired if there was any flexibility on the price, especially since the car had been on the lot for over three weeks. The salesman immediately shut down the conversation, stating flatly and rather rudely that the price was non-negotiable, regardless of payment method-even when we mentioned paying cash. Despite this, we were still interested in purchasing the car. My elderly mother politely asked if he could offer any discount, and he verbally agreed to take $470 off the price. However, when it came time to finalize the paperwork, he reneged on his promise and refused to honor the discount he had just offered. We were left shocked and disappointed by this unprofessional conduct. To make matters worse, the salesman contacted my mother’s insurance agent before we finalized the purchase, and the car was added to her policy. This felt like a manipulative sales tactic, particularly concerning given my mother’s age. Ultimately, we decided not to proceed with the purchase. We believe that every customer deserves honesty, respect, and fair treatment-none of which we received at this dealership. We will be taking our business elsewhere, to a dealership that values its customers and conducts business with integrity. I hope this review encourages Summit, Spencerport,NY to reflect on their customer service approach and to treat all potential buyers with the respect and professionalism they deserve.

"teepan" We take our customer reviews very seriously and investigate adverse reviews. We spoke with your mothers sales consultant and he stated that you were not physically present as you live in a different state. However we wanted to address what must have been concerns of your mother. Your mothers sales consultant was remorseful that your mother felt as though he "was doing her a favor" and that she was a "unvalued customer". It was not his intent to make her feel that way. Therefore we are apologizing on his behalf. Regarding the price of the vehicle: There was a reduction of $407 which was agreed upon and that he did not "reneged" on any promises. In the event a customer states they they wish to purchase a vehicle it is part of our process to contact their insurance company to ensure the accurate vehicle information is provided. The insurance company will then verifies the information with the policy holder. If your mothers insurance company added a vehicle to your mothers policy without your mothers consent we recommend you address that issue with the insurance company. Summit View Auto does NOT have intent to make anyone feel the way your mother did. We strive to treat our customers with integrity, respect and professionalism. Our customers is the reason why we have been in business for over 35 years. We hope that anyone reading this response will take that and our other positive reviews into consideration.

I purchased a Cadillac 2011 DTS.

I purchased a Cadillac 2011 DTS. Alicia was the sales person. 1. She provided excellent service. 2. She always answered the phone. Very important to me! 3. She was always very courteous, even when I was not. 4. She was extremely patient during the money transfer process. As a result I was able to purchase the vehicle. 5. The car was exceptionally clean. It ran very smoothly on the 1,600 mile trip to Colorado. I 6. I have been purchasing cars since 1962. Alicia is the best salesperson I have dealt with, bar none. 7. She was very efficient in getting the final paperwork (title, etc) to me in a timely manner. She even called to see if I received it. Very important!! Ronald R. Holland

Great overall experience.

Great overall experience. Very customer friendly and accommodating. Made the buying process very smooth and convenient. Worked with Ricky Bobby and highly recommend him to all. Got a great vehicle at a great price.

Everything started off real smooth.

Everything started off real smooth... but then boom! I waited for my vehicle to be shipped to me for 2 weeks and still had to pay a month note and I only had the vehicle for 2 weeks. Then the hassle with getting my license plate begun. Don't know why they put the paper plate on 2 weeks before the car even shipped so I only drove it for 2 weeks then had to wait until my vehicle was put in the system which took another 1.5 weeks! After speaking to the DMV, I called them to get some info on when they sent the payment and and they wouldn't give me that info. They just told me to wait and Michigan was moving slow SMH. Then after all of that, maintenance required flashed on my dash and when checking the fluids, my antifreeze is really low and so is the oil along with it being dark. I'm thinking once you get a vehicle from a dealership, all that is checked and filled and I shouldn't have to do any scheduled maintenance at least not the first 30days but not at this place. It was very disheartening going through all of that after they got my money. If I didn't like the vehicle, I would've told them to come back and pick up that vehicle. They were no help at all... just kept pointing the blame and telling me to wait. Would never do business with them again!!

I enjoyed working with the Summit view team.

I enjoyed working with the Summit view team. Jason was knowledgeable about the different types I was interested in and there was no pressure. Summit had a good selection of vehicle types I was looking for. All were first rate used SUVs. The " ins and outs " of my vehicle was thoroughly explained before I left the lot. That was nice since I was transitioning from a car with 2006 tech! I would definitely recommend Summit View to anyone looking into purchase a fine pre-owned vehicle.

My husband and I had a difficult time with cars recently,

My husband and I had a difficult time with cars recently, where one car was stolen and the other car was totaled in an accident a week and a half later. So, we needed to buy two cars on the same day. To say the least, it was a stressful couple of weeks, and by the time we'd gotten to Summit View, we really wanted a smooth and easy transition. Jason Kohlmeier was extremely helpful and efficient and made the experience the best it could possibly be! I would highly recommend Summit View Auto and Jason Kohlmeier!

Selling our car with no hassle.

Great Customer Service. After inspecting our vehicle, they purchased our car and gave us a check on the spot. They not only purchased our car but arranged for a LYFT ride to take us home. This was a no hassle process and took less than 30 minutes.

So, okay I was wrong!!! Summit view is a standup car dealership. Yes, at first I was hasty in my review which ultimately these guys had nothing to do with it. I was just in a bad mood that day. Seriously, whatever I thought about Summit quickly changed into a dealership I would bring my Grandma to. They did everything I asked for and more went really over the top. It assured me to know whatever came what may, Summit view and ALL THE PEOPLE THERE, go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy, happy, joy, joy!!!!
