Mini service well done

I needed routine service as well as a recall item repaired. From scheduling the appointment to receiving the car the customer service was tremendous. There were no surprises. The cost and time was as expected and agreed and I was able to wait comfortably while the repairs were done.. The dealership also assessed the entire car and gave me some options about other services I might want. I deferred these to a later date with no pressure from the customer service rep.

$3000 repair left us broken down on the freeway.

TERRIBLE. My car Broke down in the freeway and had to be towed towed to the dealership last Thursday. They replaced the computer ($3,000) and said the car was running. They sent me a long list of additional “suggested” maintenance repairs that it needed, and said we could pick it up yesterday - that’s when they mentioned that the battery light was on and they couldn’t figure out whether it was the alternator ($1895) or the battery ($595) - the trade in value was only $8k.... so we asked them to figure out what it was - after having the car for SIX DAYS. Anyway.... they wanted to do the repairs but my husband didn’t want to spend another $2500 on the car. They said we could drive it, that it was fine, but would need to be looked at. We looked at new cars while we were there and had the salesman (Art Bernhardt) pricing some new vehicles for us. We then tried to drive my car (to another mechanic) and the car died again - in the exact same manner as before, locking up and coming to a complete stop on the freeway - right across the freeway from Mini of The Woodlands. We had to have it TOWED AGAIN off the freeway to another shop, and we are waiting on news of the repairs and cost for towing and repairs. So..... what do you think about our service experience? We are HORRIFIED. And we believe we were taken advantage of by the service department. Certainly not taken care of in any manner of speaking. Also, we were never contacted by sales about the pricing we requested. I guess they all buried their heads in the sand and forgot about us. Well, we won’t ever forget it. And we will definitely let the people know that matter. Ie: news media and social media. So, there is your review. Please take this seriously. It was a disaster. Your service department is a joke. A giant ripoff.

2019 JCW Mini

Extremely helpful in all respects. The paperwork was somewhat daunting, which is why the Buying Process didn't get a five star review. I'm not sure that all of it was required. Extremely pleased with the floor salesman, Art Bernhardt, who was probably the best salesman I've ever had to deal with. Most of them, I"d like to strangle when I'm done, but Art made the whole experience as pleasant as it could be.

Windows Tinted

My service Provider was excellent at working to meet all my needs. I would highly recommend this dealership and service department. I dropped my car off to have my windows tinted, the job was done as I requested.

Check prices FIRST

Every time I go for an oil change I am quoted at a price that's higher than the advertised price on their website. Make sure to show them the price you viewed online so they can honor it. They still will charge you a little more but it's better than at least $20 more than expected. Make sure you know which services you had completed that are under warranty so that you do not end up paying for repaired that are covered. The customer service by Kelly was great! He seemed like he genuinely cared about what was wrong with my car and addressing those issues. Also, make sure that when you are paying, you are not being charged for something that was not previously agreed upon.

Overestimate of leaking Oil Filter Housing Gasket

Took my Mini to Mini of the Woodlands due to leaking radiator fluid. They diagnosed the problem as needing to replace the Oil Filter Housing for over $3,000. Had anther repair shop replace the gasket for less than 1/3 the price. Very dissapointed

Autonation is too big too care

I’ve made 3 purchases from an Autonation dealership in the past 4 years. The first 3 were quite good, the last two experiences have me thinking something has changed with how these dealerships are operated. In the most recent case, there’s quite a bit of arrogance coming from this dealership. I was only there for a little over an hour and over the course of the time, the salesperson spent more time telling me what he wouldn’t do rather than what he could do. They low balled me on my trade and while I expected this, I also expected a little negotiation. His response was, we don’t do that anymore, everything is controlled out of Florida. Asked about switching our rims. His response, we can’t do that here. Asked about racing stripes. His response, you can have this done aftermarket on your own. My response was to leave and take my business elsewhere. Simply a horrible experience. Sending feedback to corporate was a wasted effort the last time Autonation did a bad job. Shocking I received no response from them. I’m done with them. Hundreds of cars on the lot and I was the only customer in the place. Keep telling people what you won’t do for them!

Mini Countryman Warranty Service - Meh

Had a heat sensor replaced in my wife's Countryman that was causing the cooling fan to run and drain the battery, under warranty. As well, the mobile phone connection to blue tooth did not seem to work. Made an appointment for 4 days after I called them so we could make sure to get a loaner - and good I did. The process took 3 days, which seems an inordinate amount of time - even if you do have a free loaner. Had to call them for updates. In addition, my wife tells me the blue tooth functionality still isn't working right. I haven't had a chance to follow up myself, but it's either not working or inadequately explained to my wife. It's 30-40 minutes to get the car to the service center, so if it isn't working, there's another 1/2 day lost to the issue at least. We've got the car so that it's not draining the battery, but not particularly happy.
