I had a positive experience scheduling an appointment

I had a positive experience scheduling an appointment online - the process was easy, and the wait time was very reasonable. I also appreciated the video walkthrough from the technician, which was very helpful, and the text updates. The only downside was that the price quoted when I approved the work in the app increased at checkout and then adjusted again while they were trying to sort it out. I’m not sure why it fluctuated, but it would have been helpful to know the final price upfront as I ended up paying slightly more.

Service was good and prices were reasonable, but ended up

Service was good and prices were reasonable, but ended up having to drive back because of a mistake. I lost another hour plus of my day. While I'm glad the error was fixed, I would have preferred more work to rebuild my trust (or a discount offered, something). I was looking for somewhere I trust to take my car, and I'm not sure I'll return.

What bothered me most was the lack of urgency or care.

What bothered me most was the lack of urgency or care. I wasn’t asking for free work, just for someone to help me understand my options and guide me toward a safe repair. Instead, I left feeling like my safety on the road wasn’t important to them. Communication was minimal, and there was no effort to go above and beyond, something I’ve experienced at other dealerships. Overall, it felt like I was just another problem to pass along, not a valued customer.

Consumer response

I recently brought my 2018 Mazda CX-5 to Med Center Mazda for diagnostic work due to an engine issue. During my visit, a misfire was confirmed by the technician team, and I personally observed a rocker arm that had come off the camshaft. Despite this, my repeated request to have the valve cover removed for proper inspection was denied. Instead, I was told the issue was related to spark plugs, which had been replaced just days before. I paid a diagnostic fee, but no repairs or deeper inspection were performed, and the vehicle continued to misfire immediately afterward. I requested a refund of the diagnostic charge, as the service did not resolve or accurately identify the underlying problem. Throughout the process, I made multiple follow-ups by email, at least three after the last response I received, but unfortunately, I never heard back from Todd Stratton. While I appreciated the initial communication, the lack of resolution and failure to respond to follow-ups left me very dissatisfied with the experience.

3 hours for an oil change is totally unacceptable. I had appointment for 8 am arrived at 7:40 and didn’t leave until 10:45 and this the second time this has happened. I have bought 2 cars in the last two years but no more.

MedCenter Mazda in Pelham, AL was truly an incredible

MedCenter Mazda in Pelham, AL was truly an incredible experience. Car buying can be an incredibly daunting, frustrating and contentious process. MedCenter Mazda is the exception to that stereotype! They made the car buying process feel smooth, pressure free and most importantly, they were truly interested in what WE wanted and making every effort to meet our requests and put us in the car we REALLY wanted. Dewayne, Todd and James were all God sends - very easy to work with, executed with a sense of urgency and genuinely cared about taking care of us!
