Over charging to pay mechanics
Greg in service advisor. I paid $400 for John Jones to diagnose my GMC 1500. They couldn’t find the problem. I took it back and was told it will $89 per hour to look at it again. I was told they have to pay their mechanics, so service is not free. I called Coyle Chevrolet and was told to bring it in for only $75 for them to look at it.

Andrea, Thank you for your feedback. We did try to reach you to discuss your feedback further. Our records show an independent mechanic brought us your vehicle to do further diagnostics in early January. We apologize you are having additional issues with your vehicle. We will honor the work and anything related to your initial visit. Any further diagnostics would be an additional charge. Our rates are competitive in the industry and reflect the cost of paying our highly trained technicians. We are sorry if there was any miscommunication regarding the fees involved. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future. Our Customer Service Manager at 812-883-3088 or customercare@gmcity.com.

Lies and runarounds
Recently bought a used 2020 F-150 from them and It was listed as both "clean interior" and "professionally detailed" in the online listing, but I was very dirty inside when I showed up to look at it. During the sale I was told that they write them up like that even if they haven't cleaned them "yet". They had it a month but said they would get it detailed for me. I had to bring it back (keep in mind that this place is an hour away from my home) to have them take it to the detailer. They got it Monday at opening and returned it to me on Friday. They told that it was going to be taken to an actual detailer but had a shop guy try to clean it again. They told me this guy was great at cleaning and did the best he could. What I received somehow looked worse than when i bought it. I picked up a can of upholstery cleaner and cleaned just the console pad and made a 5 gallon bucket of water look like someone put a shovel full of mud in it. These guys are a joke, 2 attempts to clean it and they give me this? I'm now being told "Your welcome to detail your own car but per my boss we are not investing any more money it to the truck thank you for your business sorry we could not meet your expectations have a great evening" what money did they invest? My expectation was only that they would do want they said... clean the car. Photos in my google review.

Buying a car
Went looking for a used SUV and left with a new one. Overall it was very good. But I've never bought a vehicle that I had to put gas in after leaving the dealership.

Mr. Bowling, Our dealership does not hold vehicles unless there is a deposit, which was explained to you on the phone. We let you know the vehicle, a 2005 Ford F-150, sold prior to you making the drive to the dealership. We wish you the best in your vehicle shopping.

We have had an AWFUL experience with John Jones Auto in Corydon! We bought a 2016 Tahoe at the end of December, we knew that some tahoes had transmission issues so it was the first thing we asked about. They said they had recently fixed this transmission gave us a warranty on the transmission, the guy in the service department told us we would have no issues with it he explained to us what they did. We have now started having transmission issues we have drove it less then 5,000 miles since we got it and only had it 3 months. We took it there today, they told us we would need to replace the transmission, they would not stand by their warranty or the work they did. We were told we bought a used car and it’s our problem. I would recommend to not use the service department and DONT buy a used car from them.

Our dealership takes pride in straight forward and transparent dealings with our clients. The 2016 Tahoe you purchased on 12/21/2020 was sold as-is with 105k miles. At the time of sale, we offered a vehicle service contract and you declined to purchase. After three months and 7,235 miles have been put on the vehicle, our dealership understands this is an unfortunate situation. We stand behind the working condition of the vehicle and the service work performed at the time of purchase. There was no warranty on the transmission. We wish you the best and our Customer Service Manager is available at 812-883-3088 if you need anything further.
They tried the bait and switch to a wrecked car
I was looking for an Equinox a few months ago and saw one I liked at John Jones in Corydon and one at John Jones Greenville. I called Corydon lot and asked if they were still available and was told yes. I make the drive to Corydon and was told they were both sold now but we have another one in Salem and if I put a $500 nonrefundable deposit down they could hold it for me. I told them i would take my chance that it wouldnt be sold and anft with plans to return the next day. I get home and check the car fax of the Equinox they wanted me to put a nonrefundable deposit on and come to find out it had been wrecked. They tried to do the old bait and switch and put me in a wrecked car. Ill stay away from this crooked place next time im in the market for a new or used car.

We are sorry to hear you did not have a five-star experience with our dealership. As you stated, you visited our dealership a few months prior to leaving this feedback. After looking into your visit, the Equinoxes you were initially interested in did sell quickly. Our dealership takes refundable deposits to hold a vehicle and not sure if there was a miscommunication on our part about how the deposit process was explained to you? We wouldn't hold money on a vehicle that you had not seen. We certainly weren't trying to hide the vehicle history since we do provide a link to Carfax's vehicle history report on our website. Customer satisfaction is important to us and we wish we could have helped you a few months ago. If you need anything further, please contact our Customer Service Manager at 812-883-3088. Thank you!
In the middle of a pandemic , thanks for nothing
i could not get my new Challenger in for an oil change because of the pandemic but still had two left that i had bought , they told me they ran out yesterday, The service manager told me i will see if the rep will do anything for your situation. He did not take my name or any information, just felt like it was total BS. Was told if i just pay for it today he will try to do something for me, what a total line of crap. Felt like i just had stupid written on my head...
