Don’t trust what Szott Toyota service in Waterford MI

Don’t trust what Szott Toyota service in Waterford MI tells you. They lie. I took our 2010 Toyota Tacoma truck to Szott because the shifter was sticking and difficult to move from park into drive. Their service salesman told me he discussed the problem with their service techs after they took the truck for a test drive and the solution was to flush the transmission. I reminded him that the truck was old, had over 150,000 miles, probably hadn’t ever had the transmission flushed, and I’d heard that in this type of situation you NEVER want to flush the transmission. The service salesman told me, “oh that was true with the older vehicles but with these newer transmissions that is no longer a problem.” So I agreed to have it done. I’ve since learned from car experts that his statement was an outright lie. The transmission flush ruined the transmission. Szott agreed there was now a problem but said the only thing they could do was flush it again, and they did but that didn’t change anything. The whole truck shakes and shimmies when you drive it. The original problem with the shifter remains. We were told there is nothing Szott can do and we are stuck or we can pay them to replace the transmission they broke.

We are sorry that your 15 year old truck needs a new transmission at 240,162 miles. Our Toyota certified technicians respectfully disagree that the transmission flush has anything to do with your current issues.

I was shopping for a new used car and went to dealerships

I was shopping for a new used car and went to dealerships all over the metro area to look for that special car for me. I worked with Adam at Szott Toyota who was a pleasure to deal with. I always felt welcomed by him and very easy to get along with. he was very accomodating and helpful. He was a breath of fresh air in that there is no games with him and he was very honest and up front which gave me great confidence in him. He is very knowledgable and relatable and I would highly recommend him. I also would like to give a huge thumbs up to Elaine the finance manager. When buying a car I always feel like I have to get my guard up and deflect all the stuff I am going to be pressured in to buy and in a highly pressurized environment that takes a half hour or more. Well dealing with Elaine was like talking to an old friend. NO pressure, very very knowledgeable, helpful and a joy to work with. The paperwork just took a few minutes and she made the process a pleasant one instead of feeling like I had just been in a long drag out fight. I got a great deal on a great used car that was prepped wonderfully. If you would like to deal with a dealer and a rep that makes the car buying experience a pleasant one go in and ask for Adam. Adam and Elaine will take great care of you and has my highest recommendation!

worst customer service ever.

worst customer service ever. unprofessional people. I called to buy a car and the salesperson said I could come the next day and he confirmed that the vehicle would be there for sure. I called in the next day and he didn't even answer my call. he called me back after 2 hours saying the car had been sold and he was too busy to return my call back.

This was my first experience with "any" Toyota

This was my first experience with "any" Toyota dealership, and I cannot express enough, how happy I am. Marcella Milwee is second to none when it comes to customer service and respect! I was so nervous about what to expect since we have never owned a Toyota before. Let me tell you EVERY single person that I came in contact with, were beyond polite and professional. The two different shuttle drivers that I had were both extremely polite and courteous. I have dealt with dealerships in the past many times, and I have to say hands down, today was the best experience ever! THANK YOU, Marcella Milwee and the entire M-59 Szott Toyota team, for making my service experience Fantastic! We will be using you guys exclusively for our service needs. A DEALERSHIP WITHOUT HONESTY.

I heard they have a GR Supra allocation available and reached out to reserve the car. I provided all the information they need to the Sales Erik Schelesky. I checked with Erik for a couple of times and he ensured me everything was good. I asked for an email confirmation of the reservation for several times but Erik never sent it to me. I’ve been trying to call Erik this week checking on the status but he has been ghosting me. He did not pick up any of my calls and didn’t return any. When I finally got a hold of him, he told me they cannot sell the car to me because they can only serve the local area. I confirmed with Erik that they can do out of state sales and told him I’m in Washington from day 1. Maybe they decided to sell the car to a local customer who is willing to pay a mark up. We only had a verbal agreement on the sales so there’s nothing I can do about this. This dealership is xxxxxxxx and they don’t honor their words.

Customer service is back!!!

Joe’l Molina was my rep. He handled everything with knowledge, caring, and friendliness. He helped solve a problem that was intermittent. Any more, it is rare to find a representative anywhere that is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Ask for him!!! (To the management - value him!!!)

No RAV4 hybrids in stock or open to purchase from incoming cars to Scott, which is not surprising. However no one followed up on my interest on a possible future purchase other than what car I have to trade. I had no interest in trading a car.

Awesome dealership

Excellent service. Bought a high end used suv from Gordon “Big G”. He was very knowledgeable and made financing seamless. Very kind and honest. He worked side by side with Cory which made it easy.
