Lied to again
Dealt with the internet department for two days. Made a deal to drive over two hours to purchase the vehicle. Called the day I was coming to make sure I could get it. called on the way there and they were in the process of selling car to a salesman's brother.

How not to make a deal
My brother has been looking for a specific model of vehicle. He found one here on Cars.com and called the dealership and spoke to Derek. They discussed price, agreed to a deal. We live a little over a 100 miles from the dealer. My brother called him several times the following day to make sure everything was in order. He even offered to put down a deposit but Derek said if you are coming today it was not necessary. He told him he would be getting off work at 3:00 and it would take him a couple of hours to make it there. Derek said no problem we don't close until 7:00. I took off work early also to ride with him to pick it up. We were delayed leaving by an hour but on the way there he called to tell him we were running late (got voice mail). We were about two-thirds of the way there when my brother called him and Derek informed us that they had already sold the vehicle. Supposedly, according to another sales manager, someone offered more money (another salesman's brother)and we were not there on time. He said we were supposed to be there at 3:00 so he tried to put the blame on Derek. At no time was it said that we would be there by 3:00. They didn't even bother to call to say they had sold it. I guess it is one of those used car salesman tricks to get you on the lot. They thought since we come from so far away that we would look around. Now you know why used car salesmen have such a bad reputation, they deserve it. Does anyone have any honesty and integrity anymore? One more thing, the same thing happened with another dealer in New Orleans. I feel this is one of those industry practices to try to get you on the lot so they can try to sell you something usually more expensive.

I understand your frustration and would not expect you to be happy about this situation. There are always two sides to every story however we are more than willing to take full responsibility for the miscommunication. Hello all, I was in the market for a new 2011 Hyundai Elantra and I don't know anything about interest rates or dealer hold back incentives. We have a lot of dealerships over where I live so Jason Pilger Hyundai had to be pretty good to get me to buy my vehicle from them. I was quoted a fair and honest price on a New Hyundai Elantra via email by their online manager Derek Montalvo. He emailed me an out an out the door price including title, first month, and tax, per my request. I advised them that if this deal was not plausible I didn't want them running my credit. However Derek was very respectful and did the deal exactly like he said he was going to do in the first place. This absolutely did not happen at the last dealership we went to. This is a respected Dealership and I know quite a few people that dealt with them and had an enjoyable experience. The way to go on this car buying thing now is do everything online before you get to the dealership. This is what I did and had an enjoyable experience with Jason Pilger Hyundai and the internet people there. I would wait for the 2012 but I honestly don't want to pay more a month for something that I can get for a good savings. Greatly appreciated with my car buying results and overall experience was better than most dealerships.- Gladys Davis & Greg Blackwell

I could not have had a better car buying experience than the one I had today at Jason Pilger Hyundai. They have the best staff who were so helpful and personable through the whole process with my dad and I. They treated us just like family and it was a very pleasant fun experience! I could not be happier with my beautiful black Sonata SE!! :)

The guys at Jason Pilger were very accomadating to my needs. I had previously gone to other dealers and was given the run around and the other dealer tried to get over on me with the sale. Derek and Bobby were up front and truthful the whole sale and they focused on the vehicle of my choice and did not try to sell me something that I did not want.

The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I expected to see a high pressure sales person and that's not what happened. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with my choice. Charles was awesome offering to get the keys to several cars in order to help me with my choice of color. When I was apprehensive about buying in Mississippi instead of the dealership in my home town, the sales manager assured me that there would be no hard feelings when I brought my car to be serviced in my home town. I'm sure I drove them crazy because I was so indecisive. (That's what my husband says!) All in all it was a good experience for me. Sincerely, Denise Perez

Astonishing service with Derek.
My wife and I had a magnificent car buying experience with a gentleman named Derek Montalvvo at this dealership. We called Derek regarding the 2009 Mustang they had listed on cars.com. We were not looking to buy a vehicle when we went into see them, just price comparing and shopping. They succeeded in shedding a multitude of light on the finance options and the price of our 2009 Ford Mustang. Thanks again for the astounding price and especially thanks for not haggling us like car dealers have done to us before. Thank you Jason Pilger Hyundai and the internet manager, Derek.
