Jerked around by sales manager, William Fryar.
Don't do business with these people. In short, I called the sales manager on Thursday, 9/14/23, about an in-stock Colorado. Drove 1.5+ hours from Myrtle Beach that evening to look at and test drive the truck. Agreed to pay list price. The next morning, with the business manager on the phone, successfully wire transferred all the monies to buy the truck in a a cash transaction. My brother took time off from work, drove me to, and dropped me off at dealership at 11:30 am (time agreed to on prior night). After signing all purchase paperwork, business manager told me that the financial controller was out sick today and they could not verify the funds transferred. Presumably nobody else had access to the Bank of America account. I offered that we go to the local Bank of America branch to have them confirm the transfer. They declined. Proposed they give me a loaner vehicle and deliver the truck to me after they confirmed the funds. They declined. The sales manager proposed that I give them another check for the full purchase price or sign a finance contract. Not only did I not have a check, but did not have another $43K sitting around in my checking account. I told the sales manager that it was not my problem that an employee was absent and he needed to find someone else who had the authority to login to the bank account to verify the wire transfer completed. I had spoken with him earlier in the morning, before I drove 1.5 hrs + and he raised no issue. At this point, I told him that if I didn't leave with my truck, this deal was off. He replied, "I don't respond favorably to ultimatums". That was all the disrespect I could deal with. William instructed the business manager to shred the agreements and I had to pay $130 to get an Uber ride back home. The financial controller is still out sick, nobody has banking credentials, and they have yet to refund my over $43K wire transfer. These people are cruel, insensitive, and not someone you want to do business with. I only pray that someone at this dealership returns to work who can then wire transfer my money back. I bet they'll try to pull some bulls**t and say that "corporate will cut me a check".

Kendrick was ours salesperson and was amazing.
Kendrick was ours salesperson and was amazing. Great personality and found a vehicle that fit our specific needs. We did however wait over an hour just for the finance manager to come finish the deal up. Didn’t take long once we got back there but just felt like our time wasn’t valued at that point. If not for that it would’ve been the best car buying experience I have ever had

We live in Fayetteville,NC scheduled an appointment for Saturday at 12:00 with Daniel. Daniel texted that morning to confirm our appointment at “11:00am” I told him we were in the way. We get there at 12:00 pm just to be told by Daniel that someone else has bought the car and he wished we would have made our “10:00am” appointment. He said that was the only Camaro they had besides a red one that is a standard. He also said the 2020 Camaro was a 4 cylinder when the info and carfax said it was a 6 cylinder. What a total waste of time and gas! Thanks 5 star Chevrolet. We should have went to the dealership in Cary! We will be there Wednesday!

UPDATE TO MY EARLIER REVIEW! On 7-31-2023 I was contacted by John the General Manager of Five Star in Florence SC. I explained the bad experience I had with the service department last week. I even explained the comments I had been made aware of that were circulating around the community from someone in the service dept about me being bard from the property. John assured me I was never bard from the property and that he would have that issue correct. He asked if he could call me back once he looked further in to the issue. John returned a call to me a short while later and explained the issue was resolved and that no other issues would arise from this. He then stated they were going to issue me a refunded amount on my service bill and would have that sent to me immediately. I did have a bad experience with the service department and employees in the service department, but the General Manager John was very understanding, polite and provided me the best customer service I have ever gotten at Five Star! So I want to thank John, the General Manager, for his time and getting a bad experience correct! If you need assistance at Five Star call John! Showing 167 reviews July 28, 2023 Very poor service. I took my GMC Sierra in that would not start. Travis that checked me in told me they were not busy at all and would check my truck Monday after noon or Tuesday morning. I called Tuesday and took me till 11am to reach Travis. He stated that they were very busy and would check it when they could. I felt he lied to me because the day before he stated they were not busy. I was very up he asked if I wanted a supervisor to call me. I stated yes. The supervisor called me and during the conversation I told a friend to keep recording, NO I WAS NOT RECORDING OUR CONVERSATION, who was video recording some issue at my home. The supervisor told me I did not ask to record him and hung up on me. I called and spoke to Justin who said he was second in charge at the location and explained I was highly pissed that I was hung up on! I explained the who situation and told him I could always come stand on the sidewalk and hold up a sign expressing the issue I was having for everyone to see. He asked for my name and number and said he would call me right back. He called about 10 mins later and stated my truck would checked the following morning but he could not promise when it could be repaired. Wednesday morning the supervisor that hung up on me called me and stated the wiring harness to my starter was broken and that they had one in stock and could repair it that day at roughly 672.00. I had no choice and stayed to fix it. I felt it was suspicious that they had a harness in stock for a 2014 GMC Sierra truck. I paid the bill and after getting home had a fried that is a mechanic check the work they said the repaired by putting a new harness on. It was found that NO NEW HARNESS was installed. Just a small wire was spliced in to the old harness. The mechanic that check what was done at Five Start stated that was about a 5 to 10 minute fix. The part they used on the bill was $60.22 and the labor was 547.00. 607.22 before tax! If the supervisor stated a new WIRING HARNESS was being installed why was just a small wire spliced in. This is totally unacceptable! When I picked up my vehicle the man that handled the transaction was very short and made uncalled for comments! I was also told by friends that the employee that worked on my truck has been telling other people in our community that the reason the bill was so high was because I had an attitude on the phone with the supervisor and that I had be bard from the property and if I returned I’d be arrested. When I picked up my vehicle no Law Enforcement officer responded and advised me I was not allowed to return to Five Star property. So apparently the employees of Five Star are trying to ruin my reputation. I will never do business with that company again! And I urge you not to either! LESS
