About our dealership

This seller has been on Cars.com since August 2023.
Welcome to Volkswagen Eugene, Proudly Serving Lane County Drivers In 1950, Harry Sheppard came to Lane County, Oregon, to start his own business. He was an entrepreneur following a dream, inspired by the Eugene scenery around him and the promise held by the area. Setting up shop on the corner of Tenth and Olive, Harry started Eugene’s first foreign import dealership — a “one man, one car” operation. Over 70 years later, we’re proud to say that Harry’s dealership is still owned by the Sheppard family. We began selling Volkswagen vehicles in the 1990s, and we moved to our current Volkswagen dealership building in 2003.

My girlfriend is too kind, she bought a new Tiguan last

My girlfriend is too kind, she bought a new Tiguan last year and yesterday picked it up for the FOURTH time just trying to get the fuel door to work. It often won’t open when trying to get fuel, kind of important. There is a simple repair of filing the catch down per others who have experienced this common Tiguan issue. However this is a new expensive and under warranty vehicle so she has chosen to let this dealership fix it. Four different days it’s been brought in she then take a Lyft to work then a Lyft back to the dealership and the first three times they failed, let’s hope the fourth times a charm. Also they always tell her they will vacuum and wash her car, they have done this once out of four visits to the repair shop. Recently it started beeping randomly and saying something about the lane assist is unavailable sometimes once sometimes over and over again. They said we could get it to do it, it did it yesterday leaving the lot. xxx do better people this is your job and you are supposed to be the experts, this experience has been so frustrating she’s looking to get a different car already. Brandon at the service desk seems to be scattered and confused sending her messages to the wrong number and sent her Lyft to the wrong address yesterday. If you can’t do your job find another one. A manager or someone who actually cares about their customers and business should be reaching out to her, but nothing. They don’t care and employ the unemployable. Stay away from vw of Eugene.

Rear brakes were replace at 16000 miles due to premature

Rear brakes were replace at 16000 miles due to premature wear and now 10,000 miles later need to be replaced again. They refuse to honor the parts warranty and neither Sheppard nor VW will stand behind their parts or work. It looks like I am on the hook for new brakes every year or so unless I trade this car in. Brake pads are supposed to last around 70,000 miles so this is totally unacceptable. I will not be returning here for anything.
