Overall great experience here. I loved working with Kamilla and felt like she was honest, helpful and informative. This location was my first and only test drive and I'm not typically quick with decisions, so I think that speaks to their service.

Dragging Their Feet After Purchase

With a lending offer already in hand and a vehicle already picked out, our buying process was quick and quite simple. It took us 3 hours from start to finish, which was great because their lot is an hour away. After the purchase was made, however, they've become unresponsive and can't explain why it was take upwards of 8 days to deliver the vehicle, leaving me to drive my now uninsured trade-in for over a week. I drive for a living am looking at losing hundreds of dollars of income over the weekend because I cannot drive an uninsured vehicle for work. Horrible "customer service" after the fact.

Class Act

Felipe and everyone at automax really helped me. I imagine myself a very difficult buyer and these guys really worked with me and never got frustrated with my decision to think about it or change vehicles or argue rates etc. The team there really met me where I was and made me very happy with the deal and vehicle I got. Customer comes first IS NOT Automax's motto!

I was extremely disappointed in the dealership's lack of trying to please a customer. After driving over 90 minutes from home to the dealership, the salesman would not allow a test drive of the car, prior to purchase. Extremely disappointing because I had a scheduled appointment coordinated by their sales staff to see this particular vehicle. An excuse was given to me that many customers never show up and sales will not waste their efforts having a vehicle ready for test drive if it is parked in the showroom. They are not to blame, only the other customers who don't show up are the cause of their lack of attention to detail. I was told I had to purchase the vehicle, otherwise it would not be held for me to reschedule an appointment for a test drive, later in week. Mistakenly, I bought the vehicle that day, as I do not have days available to car shop. The dealership would not release the vehicle until they registered it. Upon returning to dealership to take the vehicle on a test drive, the salesman would not permit me to drive the vehicle on an interstate freeway, rather I had to remain on a state road, in heavy "stop and go" traffic. This was very unsatisfactory. The dealership said it would take 5 days from purchase date to perform a VIN check and to register the car. After telling the salesman this length of time was unacceptable, I requested the name and email of the general manager. The salesman refused to give me this information after several requests. Additionally, two internet requests on the dealership website and a phone call to the dealership with this same inquiry resulted in the same answer. No one would disclose the name of the general manager. On the fifth day, after purchasing this vehicle, the dealership 'registration runner' returned from RI DMV with registration plates, but only after the dealership closed for the day. Therefore I would have to wait for the next business day to pick up the vehicle. I then had to point out to the salesman that the registration plates he had in hand did not match the registration certificate he had in hand. After pointing this error out, the sales staff said it would take an additional 4 or 5 days to correct the mistake and properly register the car, thus making this car unavailable to me, the buyer, for 9 - 10 days after buying it. This was very unsatisfactory. They attributed the error to the DMV, and that their employee was not responsible for checking the documents and plates received from the DMV because the dealership hires, "old, retired guys" who do the "running." Once again, they are not to blame for lack of attention to detail. Not wanting to wait any longer to take possession of this car, I demanded the car to be turned over to me. Surprise! Upon driving it home on the freeway, I noticed an obvious alignment problem as well as the car pulling to the right when braking. It's no wonder they did not want me to test drive it prior to purchase! Other than very competitive pricing, I could not think of any reason I would ever want to do business with this dealership. Nor would I ever recommend buying a car from Automax. They need to develop "the customer comes first" in their sales training and management and learn time management, or hire more, competent employees.
