Pissed off customer

Edit: trey the GM is helping out so raising up the star Money was stolen out of my vehicle when i got an oil change few months back. Didn’t want to go back and they wanted to make it up so i gave them a chance to fix a loose fuel cap door today. Instead of properly fixing it they bent the gas cap cover arm/lever and now its rubbing against the side wall. Scratches are already showing where the gas cap cover is contacting the side wall. Pissed as xxxx and didn’t want them touching my vehicle again so i left. I would not recommend them at all and will never go back to this place nor buy another vehicle from them.

I wanted to delete review that i made but can't so i will update the review since Trey the GM is resolving the problem. thanks VERY ANGRY CUSTOMER by Pissedoffcustomer from Fairfax, VA April 2, 2019 I wrote these reviews in google review but wanted to share here: “I liked the service but very disappointed @ the worker who stole my money from my vehicle. It's only a few bucks but seriously guys it's pathetic to steal someone else's $. If this happens again i'm def getting the police and my lawyer involved. Whoever you are, is $3 or $4 really worth losing your job and possibly end up in jail? Also you guys need to get your workers in check.” “I'm the one who wrote a negative review about this dealership stealing my $$ when i got my vehicle serviced at this place. I actually wanted to give them another chance to get my vehicle serviced for the fuel door being loose that made rattling noise. The service adviser that I used was Edwin. They are all nice people I have no negative feedback about them, however their service is just beyond horrible and I lost total trust in them after they messed up my fuel door (gas cap cover). First of all Edwin told me that this issue will be covered under warranty and have told me that this issue was under TSB, but when I spoke to his manager Dennis? He told me that my problem wasn't covered under warranty and they did a favor for me. That's fine but I can't believe you guys tried to adjust the fuel door by bending the door lever. That literally misaligned the door cap and now it's rubbing the body or the side wall around the gas cap whenever i open/close the door. How are you guys going to return the vehicle at its condition? Edwin said he fixed the rattling noise but then what? you guys want me to keep driving my vehicle and whenever i get fuel i have to let my gas cover keep rubbing the sidewall? I already see scratches on the gas cap cover and had to tape around it so that i don't damage my car. If I wasn't knowledgeable about vehicles I would be ending up with rusted gas cap cover along with paint damage on the sidewall around the gas cap. I walked away pissed as xxxx and will never go back there again. And this is the last time I'm buying a car from them as well.”

No valid reason for a hard inquiry on my credit

First off, overall it was a pretty good experience but I have two related issues that left me feeling less than great about the experience. I came in with a not-to-exceed check from my credit union and expressed clearly that I wasn't interested in alternative financing. I was still asked to fill out a credit application, which I stopped filling out when I figured out what it was. During the finalizing process I signed off on them running a credit report, which was dropped on me in the middle of a flurry of valid things to sign. I definitely signed the form, which I wish now I had pushed back on. If I am coming in with a check and secured financing, my credit is none of there need-to-know. So I wonder why they asked me to sign that and why they ran the credit check, which only could have happened after they had already accepted my payment in the form of a check from my credit union. Are they selling this information? Now I have a hard inquiry on my report until 2021, which was completely unnecessary.

Used car purchase

We bought a used Mazda CX-5 with the help of Baz Mohammad. He was very helpful informative. No pressure and quite pleasant. Highly recommend him.

Browns Mazda of Fairfax cares about their customers

The manager was so helpful and professional on my latest service visit. When I couldn’t work on my laptop because of some issues with the Brown’s wireless working, they were genuinely apologetic. Despite the fact that sometimes technology has hiccups, they comped my oil change without my even suggesting it. Truly professional, I would recommend them to anyone. The staff is uniformly excellent to work with, the best dealership service department I have encountered in 30 years of car ownership.

Done right the first time

Work was professionally done right the first time. The status updates from the service advisor were welcome too. Also appreciated the shuttle to the Metro.

That people like me can afford it is genuinely a miracle

The waiting room has a TV that's always on, cables to charge your phone, orange juice, and they even pour the brown oil in the right container instead of the gutter.

Mazda CX-5

Rebecca Shermer was an excellent salesperson to deal with at this dealership. Her communication via phone and email was prompt and courteous. She was knowledgeable about the CX-5, and spent a lot of time with me getting acquainted with all the features that it offered. She was the ONLY salesperson out of 6 or 7 in my recent new car search that automatically opened the hood and described the engine features. It was a welcome experience to be viewed as legitimate buyer and decision maker on the purchase. You would be doing yourself a favor to visit this dealership and ask for Rebecca.
