Beware the reconditioning fee.

Beware the reconditioning fee. After I test drove the car was 5,000 dollars more then posted with all the fees. I bought a car at a different dealership they had no reconditioning fee whatever that is lol, and worth admin fees and the 500 for no trade in it was only 1100 more then posted.

Shady Business.

Shady Business. Hidden fees / Undisclosed convenience fee on credit card. Salesperson Nora said it'd be 2287 on the credit card, but nowhere on the paperwork, nor the finance manager Michael Norris or my salesperson Nora mentions there is a 2.25% surcharge, which incurred a ~60 dollar extra charge. On the credit card charge authorization form, it clearly writes "2392" with big black ink (5 dollars for the tag, again, undisclosed until paperwork). When it hit my credit card, it is $2445.82??? Refund the $53.82 difference immediately. It's illegal to pass on any surcharge to customers without informing them beforehand. You have no ground to do that. Per MO law (Missouri House Bill 2383), it clearly stated that " Any lender or merchant imposing a convenience fee as provided for in this section shall provide clear disclosure of such fee prior to imposition. Such notice shall include the dollar amount of such fee, a statement that such fee is nonrefundable if applicable, and a statement that such fee is charged for a specific payment method from a list of available payment options. " Filing a complaint with MO Attorney General would be my next step if this goes unresolved. 5 dollars tag fee and 400 dollars dealer fee were also not disclosed upfront, but at least the paperwork clearly stated it. That 2.25% convenience fee? I am not seeing it stated anywhere. **UPDATE**: Nora said they will refund $53.82 some time in the future (when?), blaming it on "software error" (do you believe this?). Overall experience for buying in cash from out of state is absolutely abysmal: Credit check required, do not accept bank same-day wire transfer (only allowed when their finance manager goes to your bank with you to wire), personal check not accepted, and hold bank certified/cashier's check for like a week before releasing the car, not to mention the pushback when I requested some additional photos because auto insurance was asking for it, promised to get back to me by EOD and then ghost, the list goes on. They do not help with auto transportation either

Walked in June 9th text drove a Jeep Finance Manager

Walked in June 9th text drove a Jeep Finance Manager tried to upcharge me 1200 in fees that are never broken down. Final price was 25,569 after they advertised a sticker price of 23,990 and had the never to say that he was cutting me a deal because I wasn't financing. KBB range is between 22,700 and 24,800 I told him what the KBB range was and he ignored the statement. I walked off. The car was out of gas and hasn't moved in a month. This dealership is just chasing financing and not trying to sell vehicles. They sell debt not cars. They are worse than a credit card company

We have purchased many vehicles in the past.

We have purchased many vehicles in the past. Today, we visited Landmark dealership in Independence with the intention of purchasing a Jeep Wrangler. We spent considerable time on the lot examining the Jeeps, but no salesperson approached us to offer assistance. Eventually, I approached the showroom to seek help. Unfortunately, the experience was unexpectedly unprofessional and uncomfortable. Our assigned salesperson was Josiah, and regrettably, this was the most disappointing sales experience we have encountered, car or other. Josiah seemed to make fun of us and used sarcasm and rudeness to make his points. All we asked for was the interest rate of the vehicle in which we were interested. He would not give us that but insisted that we drive the vehicle which we did not want to do as we already own a Wrangler and just wanted the interest rate information. We felt very disrespected and uncomfortable and even unsafe due to Josiah's confrontational attitude. Ultimately we chose to leave the dealership. Another important detail to our interaction with Josiah was when I told Josiah my wife had changed her mind from a four door to a two door, he replied, "Yes, women do that." So unprofessional and sexist. Additionally, we were asked to move our vehicle, which we had parked while looking at the inventory. During this interaction, Josiah was accompanied by two other staff members (as if he needed muscle backup when all we wanted to do was purchase a car) and engaged with us in a manner that we found extremely disrespectful and dismissive. We recommend any other Jeep dealership in the area. We had a great experience at Excelsior Springs Jeep.

Scam DEALER at LANDMARK JEEP.

Scam DEALER at LANDMARK JEEP. This is the 3 month I have tried to get a situation resolved and the same answer happens which shows why every time you come to this location its always new staff and the same management staff. It's the fact that I had to go in the again to find out why it is taking so long and its always the same story and even if I was to wait there for 2 hours, I would ignore by them. So many bad reviews and just another that will add to their list and drop their ratings with CDJR and make other dealerships get business since it will never stop. WORST DEALERSHIP in Independence, MO.

This is the new thing I guess in the car sales space.

This is the new thing I guess in the car sales space. Advertised price is deceptive because you will receive another (larger) amount when you arrive. This dealer has a prep, finance and trade in fee that’s not represented in the Cars.com site. This should be prohibited. I called and they wouldn’t give me a price over the phone. I had to test drive the car to see all of the up charges. The 16k car I was interested in went up to over 19k because I didn’t want any of the ballon services. They refused to removed the extra charges so I left the car there. Was able to find the same car closer to home for the advertised price and I bought it. Do not use these deceptive dealer.

I went to look at a 2019 and 2017 Jeep Wrangler for sale.

I went to look at a 2019 and 2017 Jeep Wrangler for sale. The 2019 was listed four months ago, and the 2017 was listed five months ago. The 2019 had several scratches, chipped paint, and a broken drivers-side window button, along with several modifications (cheap mall-crawler-style aftermarket wheels and tires and possibly some suspension work). It had three prior owners, and at least one reported accident. Given the issues above and that it was sitting in their "Budget Row," I imagine these vehicles will be sent to auction when they don't sell in the next 1-2 months. Nevertheless, I decided to take it for a test drive, and when we got on the highway, I encountered the dreaded "Death Wobble" for the first time. I did not get a chance to drive the 2017 Wrangler as as it wouldn't start... another red flag. After getting back to the dealership, the sales lady did a workup sheet for the vehicle at full price. I told her that I couldn't make an offer in its condition (primarily, the mechanical issues), and that the most I would give her for it (in pristine condition) was $16k, cash. She went to her manager, who came in and introduced himself. He seemed a bit slow, getting confused when I said I wasn't prepared to offer him full price in the vehicle's current state - obviously, from the context, I meant "condition" and not "location" and had to explain this to him. He insisted that the chips and scratches were normal for Wranglers and that the price asking for the vehicle was "aggressive." He also admitted that the vehicles hadn't been run very often, and that it not starting was also "normal" and expected. He was argumentative, brusk, and dismissive, and unwilling to acknowledge any of my concerns. Realizing there was no deal to be made, and that these vehicles were destined for the auction as I can't machine him being able to sell them in the next month or two, I thanked them both for their time and left. I felt bad for the sales lady, she was pleasant to work with, and had her manager elected to be reasonable, I would have been more open to trying to work with them. I suppose I should be thankful he intervened as he dissuaded me from making a bad decision.
