jeff wyler eastgate; a buyer beware used car dealer
Jeff Wyler Eastgate, I am writing regarding a 2012 ram 1500 I purchased from the Jeff Wyler used vehicle dept. in Eastgate, OH. I have purchased two vehicles from Jeff Wyler Eastgate; a 2012 mazda 3(new) and the 2012 ram 1500(used). My wife and I were in the process of looking for a new 2015 Mazda cx-9 at Wyler Mazda; I am no longer interested in purchasing or doing any business with the Jeff Wyler group. During the financing portion of the deal I was introduced to a 4.00% interest rate. I knew the current rates were 3.11% and I have great credit. When I questioned the interest rate the finance person said that was the best they could do. I refused the financing and said I would return with a check from my bank. When I said that, the finance person said hold on and magically found me a 2.99% interest rate. Why wouldn't I have gotten that rate in the first place? That is poor business and I should have cancelled the deal at that moment. During the purchase of the 2012 Ram 1500 I asked to have some stickers removed from the rear of the truck. The salesman said they would not remove the stickers for liability reasons. I understood and decided I could remove them myself. When I started to remove the stickers myself I noticed the tailgate had been repainted, over the stickers. During the repainting process the stickers were not taped off correctly. This process left the top of the sticker painted in white and thus rendering irremovable without repainting. I did not notice this defect upon delivery of the vehicle; if I had, I would have asked for a “we owe” to remove the stickers and repaint the tail gate. I drove the vehicle back to Jeff Wyler Eastgate and asked for this to be looked at and fixed (12-15-2014). I was told by the sales manager that they will not fix it since it wasn’t in the “we owe”. Again, I understand that it was not a written “we owe”, however, I was asking for someone to do the right thing in the name of customer service. It was dark out when I bought the truck making it difficult to fully see. Had I noticed the stickers were not easily removable, I would have either asked for them to be removed by Jeff Wyler or I simply would not have purchased the truck. I walked out extremely upset realizing they weren’t going to resolve this, no matter how much I pleaded. I purchased the vehicle from Jeff Wyler because I felt that I get fair deals and the customer service had been great. I often tell people to go to Jeff Wyler Eastgate because I enjoyed my experience. I had expected Jeff Wyler to repair the cosmetic flaw in good faith since I paid “Retail Value” for the vehicle. I chose to go to Jeff Wyler rather than a private seller because I felt there is more security when buying from this dealership and paying extra for that. If I would have noticed this defect at the time of purchase it would have been taken care of before delivery. I would never have thought Jeff Wyler would conduct themselves as a buyer beware dealer and provide me with no resolve. Due to this poor customer service and the inability to make it right I will never buy a vehicle or service any of my vehicles at any Jeff Wyler dealership again. I will also warn people to be cautious and thoroughly inspect the vehicle they are considering and to not buy a vehicle at night like I did. -Jesse Swensgard

We are sorry that you feel our dealership wronged you in some way. We spoke with all the parties involved as well as reviewing your complaint and it seems like the dealership handled the situation correctly. At the time of purchase, you asked if the dealership could remove the stickers and the dealership stated for liability reasons, that it may damage the paint, they did not want to remove them. At that point, you could have refused to purchase the vehicle but as you stated yourself, you decided you could remove them. We understand that you are now having second thoughts about removing them yourself, for the very same reasons the dealership stated they did not want to remove them however this is not the fault of the dealership. They were honest from the very beginning about the stickers. You made the decision to go ahead with the purchase and remove the stickers on your own. Our dealerships take pride in being highly reputable and when unforeseen problems arise, we are more than happy to help the customer in every way possible. This is a case where the dealership was completely honest with you upfront and now you are regretting your decision. We are sorry that there is no more we can do and we are sorry for how you feel about the situation.

I Did It All By Myself
My wife and I were looking for many months for a new lease vehicle for our 16 year old daughter. I brought in a newspaper add for a Nissan Centra S $149.00 a month, nothing down, 12000 miles included 36 mos. I was greeted immediately and pleasantly by Tania. I explained the add, and she immediately started pulling up the available vehicles on the lot. She was a pleasure to deal with, as she listened to exactly what I wanted, and worked to explain, show, and answer questions just on what I wanted, and nothing else. She offered suggestions only. Within one hour, I had test drove a vehicle and signed my intent to lease. The rest was just the business of preparing and signing. Tania made me feel very comfortabl eand paid attention. I felt no pressure, nor any unecessary or uncomfortable sales tactics to obtain anything other that what I wanted. Tania has an excellent, and professional work ethic! I normally need my wife to handle dealing with new cars and I was able to do this on my own. A great experience! the right fit
After a long days search for a new vehicle, we stopped at Jeff Wyler Eastgate to look at a Jeep. The initial one we wanted was out of our budget. Instead of sending us out the door, Tyler took us around to see their stock and found us the perfect one in our budget. Thanks to Tyler and the staff at Jeff Wyler Eastgate Jeep, we got what we love and still stayed in our budget!
