BMW M5

BMW is recalling more than 58,700 vehicles over an issue with the electrical wiring harness for the air-conditioning system.

Having reviewed the two previous generations of the M5, I was excited to test the new, electrified plug-in hybrid M5 wagon with its combined 717 horsepower and EPA-estimated 25 miles of all-electric range.

The redesigned 2025 BMW M5 is an amazing technological tour de force capable of incredible feats of speed, but it might be too complicated for its own good.

As is its recent spring custom, BMW has announced a smattering of minor updates across its lineup, including improved range for its all-electric i5 sedan.

This is only the third time in the M5’s nearly 40-year history that BMW has made an M5 Touring, and the first time the model has ever been sold in the U.S.

When it arrives later this year, the 2025 BMW M5 will produce an astounding 717 hp and 738 pounds-feet of torque.

When the next-generation BMW M5 arrives later this year, the sedan will be accompanied by its wagon-bodied Touring sibling.

BMW is the latest automaker to take action in resolving its part of the long-running Takata airbag crisis, issuing a “do not drive” warning for older 3 Series, 5 Series and X5 vehicles.

The bulk of the updates to the 2023 5 Series are found in the interior, with BMW reintroducing the Executive Package on the 530i, 530e and 540i models.

BMW’s 2022 model year brings mostly minor updates in feature packaging, along with some new colors, but highlights include two new EVs.
