Automakers Genesis and Kia (related brands under the Hyundai family) are recalling certain vehicles over an issue that increases the risk of a fire.
This year’s study is based on responses from 99,144 buyers and lessees of new model-year 2024 vehicles, and respondents were surveyed 90 days after acquiring their vehicles.
The Genesis G80 and G90 luxury sedans have both earned Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick+ awards for the 2024 model year despite stricter requirements to qualify for the status.
These cars offer panoramic moonroofs or sunroofs either as standard or optional equipment for 2024.
The 71 vehicles that qualified for the awards for 2024 is an increase of 23 over 2023, when stricter requirements began to take effect.
Both the 2024 Genesis G80 and its electric counterpart, the aptly named Electrified G80, have scored the premier Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
For 2024, the gas-powered G80 simplifies things a little, dropping rear-drive configurations from the lineup and committing fully to all-wheel drive.
