Consumer Reports, which has been ranking new-car reliability for years, has released its first-ever ranking of used cars that are 5 to 10 years old.

The all-new Countryman EV is set to go on sale in September 2024, a year after it was first announced and coinciding with Mini’s 65th anniversary of selling cars in the U.S.

The 2024 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study suggests buyers of new vehicles are “becoming overwhelmed with technology features that don’t solve a problem, don’t work, are difficult to use or are just too limited in functionality.”

Some automakers furnish complimentary maintenance programs that last anywhere from one to five years from when the car was new, but there are limitations.

For 2024, Porsche takes the top spot for premium brands as well as the overall crown, with Mini taking the honors among mass-market brands.

This year’s study is based on responses from 99,144 buyers and lessees of new model-year 2024 vehicles, and respondents were surveyed 90 days after acquiring their vehicles.
