Brakes and computer system

Initially, I loved this vehicle: comfort, handling, space. However, I have had two major problems. 1. Computer malfunction-not able to turn vehicle off-had it towed while running-sat at dealership for 2 days until opening on a Monday. 2. rotors and pads need replacing-could not pass inspection after 14 +- months-too much rust on brakes-2018! will cost 600-800$-Contacted Chevy-apparently this (brakes) is common. Not happy.

The more I drive my Equinox the more I love it.

We I knew from the start this will be the car we want. It is very attractive car, feels very solid, love the features and comfortably in our budget.

Good car but terrible warranty coverage

I like the vehicle for its performance and styling. I have had a terrible experience in Chevrolet handling a warranty issue involving the upholstery. I have the leather interior and it has a manufacturing flaw using a nylon type of material on the side of the front bucket seats. One of the seats has a rip in the nylon that started at the stitching of the leather to the nylon. It is ripping much like a women's nylons run once they have a hole in them. I took it to the dealer and they looked at the problem and said that in their opinion it appears to be a customer caused problem. GM then refused to do anything about it saying it is not covered by warranty. I have been battling the GM customer service trying to get them to change their opinion as to what the cause of the problem is. I have run a furniture company for ten years and I know what the cause of the problem is. Poor design and or a manufacturing issue. If they won't cover it as a warranty issue I will not buy another GM car. I own 6 of them and have never had to claim any type of warranty so this is not acceptable to put the cost of repair in the customers hand for their design and manufacturing error.

Best vehicle ice ever owned, until...

I have had my 2008 for one week now so OnStar and membership weren't included. Came with one key. Everything went great until i started the car so my husband could move it AND IT AUTO LOCKED THE DOORS!! That's right, car running, only set of keys in the ignition and the doors were locked!! I had to wreck the visor on the driver's side and spend a half hour fishing around with a curtain rod to unlock the car!! What kind of car locks you out AFTER you've started the car with the doors unlocked?!?

Worst vehicle I have owned

We tried to tow our 2018 Premier diesel with our RV as we had the Canyon pickup we traded in. Cannot do. It was dead at each stop from here to Texas and back and the dealerships in Texas and Mississippi were unable to give any guidance. Found out that modifications were required but not in manual until the 2019. Otherwise a very average vehicle that felt small. I am now happy in a new 2019 Rav4 Hybrid.

Satisfied customer

Overall i am pleased with the car, it appears small from the outside compared to other crossovers but it has ample room. I dont feel cramped in it as opposed to the large sedan(Lacrosse) i was considering. Pros- It has plenty of pep when you hit the gas 252hp turbo so you are never lacking for power. Lots of tech features along with modern safety features . Collision avoidance ,Apple Car Play Etc. Stylish and sporty, AWD option and 19inch wheels. Good gas mileage. Cons- occasional issues with the accessories (bluetooth and AppleCarPlay). The startstop system can get annoying but it doesnt bother me as much as most reviews ive seen. That being said i would turn it off if i could, im not really sure it saves gas.

Do not purchase!

At 18,000 miles, my 2018 Equinox had to go to the dealership because it refused to accelerate. Check engine, traction & tire balance lights would come on. I was told it was pulling in cold air & the condensation was freezing & cracked something in the engine. After fixing the engine, I was told to clip a cheap, vinyl bra to my grill to keep it from happening again in temps below 20°. Can't be on in temps over 32° or the engine would overheat. They say the issue can't be fixed. I called GM customer service & got no help from them either.

Awesome car with plenty of room.

Car has met my expectations with plenty of leg room. Comfortable. Easy navigation. Storage seats fold down for added room. Would recommend this car indeed
