Traded it in within a year

I hadn't owned a GM vehicle since the early 90's and now I remember why. I bought the top of the line Equinox in July 2018. After the first 4 or 5 months it developed an annoying vibration at speeds about 30 mph, felt like driving on a bumpy road at lower speeds, a vibration at freeway speeds. Took it to the dealer, asking them to check wheel balance, suspension components for loose items, or maybe a failing shock. They old me it's because of the nine-speed transmission shifting into high gear causing the engine to lug. I verified for myself by manually keeping the transmission in a lower gear (and thus a higher RPM) the problem still existed. Took it to the dealer again, explaining this. They checked wheel balance (nothing else) and said it was within spec. Being suspicious, I took it to an independent shop. They verified balance was within spec. Grew more unhappy with the ride every time I drove it and decided to take my losses, and traded in for a new Honda Passport. Much better vehicle in all aspects. Trade-in value was awful, lost almost half its original value. After this experience I doubt I'll ever get another GM vehicle.

Love my new ride

The car met all my needs! Drives like its brand new, still under warranty. Ive had an 05 equinox years ago. Ive had a 16 traverse, but decided against that for this 18 equinox!

Roomy suv

Plenty of cargo room drives and rides great, handles superbly. Perfect size has all safety features. So far love this SUV. Easy to get in and out of but high enough for great visibility

Company Car

This is my company car. I drive 50 - 60k miles per year. It was new last June now 32k . No issues so far. For what it is is a good car. Runs good, Drives good. feels stable on the road. Pretty good in snow with OEM tires but really good with snow tires. Apple play works good and sounds good. Good MPG. AWD is switchable on/off which is different. Hate the engine shutdown crap at red lights, I just pump the brakes . I haul tools and a ladder so for me it doesn't work well. Company no longer offers Caravan option. I'm a "wide" person so the seats hurt after a couple hours. I get flashed a lot at night by oncoming traffic with low beams on so that's annoying. But for what it was designed for it seems to be good car

Only had it a month but so far all good!

I am loving my Equinox - I had one as a rental on a 3w trip around the SW a couple of years ago and put 3000 miles on it and loved driving it - so when I needed a new car that's where I went. The model I have has been updated since my rental but it's just as great. Def recommend.

We like it very much

It is nice comfortable and spacious. Has good performance. It’s good looking reliable and has plenty of storage. The backup camera is really bright the dash is easy to read and the radio is good.

Equinox Premier

Love everything but I think a Premier vehicle should have premium sound minimum! Very disappointed in the sound quality and it should have chrome on the wheels/hubcaps but the sound quality bothers me a lot

Absolute junk!

We needed a bigger vehicle that met our families needs, the Equinox checked all the boxes and we took the plunge and bought his and hers. Now mine has 33,000 miles on it and the wife’s has 24,000. Both vehicles have been in the shop 3 times. We’ve had two software issues that crippled our vehicles. First one was on the wife’s car and took two weeks to diagnose and fix. The 2nd software glitch was totally different and on my vehicle. Diagnosed and fixed first day but without warranty would’ve cost me 200 dollars to fix. Both vehicles had noises related to a design flaw with the way the radiator sits that also had to be dealt with. Both lift gates rattle when u reach 60 mph. Long story relatively short; Ive lost all faith in gm products. These things are garbage, and while most vehicles depreciate 4500 or so after purchase, the Equinox depreciated nearly 7500 when we drove them off the lot leaving us underwater. Should have kept the Mazda Cx5s we had before, they were smaller but far better vehicles. Only upside to the Equinox was it was spacious, fuel efficient and had decent power thanks to the turbo. But all of that is worthless if the cars computers render the rest of the vehicle useless.
