Happy Driver
I think it's pretty amazing. We bought the base model with the alloy wheel addon and the roof rails which is all we really needed (though we had to buy the cargo cover separately, which was a little silly). The only thing I disliked about the purchase was the Subaru Starlink feature was poorly explained in the literature. The literature made it sound like all the models were equipped with many of the features, not that you could really only use the app whilst your smartphone is connected. HOWEVER! That's just one negative comment in a sea of positivity. LOVE this car. SO MUCH. It's a joy to drive and learn; couldn't possibly get more for the value.

After Four Outbacks, My First Forester
I couldn't wait to own my new Forester. I'd had 4 consecutive Outbacks prior to ordering it. My wife has a '16 basic level Forester, and gloated because her car was faster than my Outbacks (true enough). The new design is easy on the eye--both outside and inside. The car is more rigid thanks to Subaru's Global Platform. They've tweaked the suspension and have boosted the horsepower. It has a solid ride, and has excellent acceleration. And it is much, much quieter than previous models I've driven. The interior is also vastly improved. I chose to buy the Touring model, as I'd done on two of my previous Outbacks. Comfort plus quality materials play a big part in my enjoyment of the new car. If I have any complaints, they are very small, and perhaps insignificant. The cup holders in the front are too far back for them to be comfortable or easy to retrieve a cup or glass. The little storage cubby beneath the display screen is very shallow and has no incline front to back. The result is that you can't put much in it, and if you accelerate quickly, things tend to slide out. Finally, it would be nice if they had designed it so that the armrest slides forward to afford more room for your arm as they had done on the previous design. But 99 out of 100 design considerations is a pretty good average. Subaru has a winner with its 2019 Forester--regardless of which trim level you choose. Even a basic model (like my wife's) comes standard with the Eyesight system. Who knows, maybe I can talk her out of her car and into a new one--but I won't hold my breath. She is fiercely loyal to her car, and I've learned to leave well enough alone.

Smooth Ride / Excellent Value
The redesigned forester is a significant upgrade in ride quality from the previous generations. The forester handles very well at highway speeds and offers numerous safety features which are not overly obtrusive. The seats are comfortable and there is a plenty of room in the back seat for both adults and car seats. The visibility is great minus a couple blind spots at the rear corners, which are offset by the blind spot indicators on the mirrors. The acceleration, while not overly fast, is more than adequate for highway driving. The CVT occasionally struggles with stop and go traffic on the highway as it kept shifting up and down.

Good daily drive suv
Good side: Handle like sedan, quiet interior, useful and easy to use infotainment system, great awd for off-road setting, roomy enter/exit back seats. Downside: 25 more horsepower would be better Only 6 speed cvt transmission
