Great car
Never owned a Subaru before but knew they were popular in Colorado. Now that I bought one, I understand their popularity. Obviously a lot of thought has been put in to the production of this vehicle

Well appointed and a pleasure to drive. Excellent handling and comfortable. This is my second Outback My 1st was a 2009 Outback. Both cars are safe and dependable. I traded the 2009 Outback for the 2019 Outback. The ist Outback was so go I bought another one.

Great for everything
Easy to put kids in/out. If you drive it properly will get 30+ miles per gallon. Which is great for this car size. Safety is awesome. One of the reasons to get this car. If you live in a snowy area, Subaru is a no brainier. Resale value is the best. Look at 5 year old Outbacks. They are still around $20000 where you can get new limited at $30000. That tells you something.

Really a joy to drive
The Harmon Kardon sound system is outstanding. The ride is very smooth and it really hugs the road compared to my last car (Rouge). I also like the EyeSight system which my insurance company also must like since they gave me a $360 a year discount for.

What a joy to drive
The car is extremely comfortable in the front and back seats. It is very responsive though a little noisy having only 4 cylinders. We've only had it a few weeks so we are still learning all the things it can do.

Lots of Annoying Quirks
I've owned my 2019 Outback for seven months and have a love/hate relationship with it. It's a nice looking car that handles reasonably well (for a wagon), and gets decent fuel economy (for an all-wheel drive). Personally, I find most of the driver aids to be more of a hindrance than a benefit. The adaptive cruise control - even on the closest setting - puts so much distance between you and the car in front that someone always cuts in. Then the Outback slows down to widen the gap and the process starts again. I refuse to use it. The car annoyingly beeps all the time - lane departure, adaptive cruise, another car sensed, another car not sensed, etc. The worst thing about the car though is the CVT. Simply terrible. Buzzes annoyingly at the same RPM during acceleration and the acceleration is painfully slow. The 3.6 is better but it drinks gas like a full size pickup. Subaru needs an intermediate engine. The other day I accidentally "butt dialed" the key fob and opened the hatch while the car was in the garage. I didn't know I'd done it and the next morning the battery was dead. Really??? A car with so many "driver aids" can't even shut a dome light off to prevent a dead battery??? Ridiculous. The navigation system is out of date. Even after doing a recent software update, it doesn't know where my house is, and doesn't know about an interstate access that's been open for over a year. I use my phone for navigation. Unfortunately, none of these annoying features are optional and I paid good money for them. Over all, I am disappointed in this car. It is unlikely it will remain with me for long. Too bad. I really wanted to like it.

Drives Luxuriously
It is truly the "flagship" Subaru. I traded a 2018 Subaru Legacy, wanting the additional storage of the Outback. I really liked my Legacy and thought the Outback to simply be a different configuration of that same automobile. Wow, was I wrong. It drives "bigger", is even quieter and smoother than my Legacy was. While traveling, I've rented some premium cars, with the Outback being every bit as good, if not better. I can't get over how quiet the cabin is and what a smooth ride it offers. I'm glad I made the move to the Outback. Also, my Legacy was a 2.5 Limited, and the new Outback is a 2.5 Limited. The concern that there isn't enough power is so much hogwash. It has plenty of zip. I sure don't need more.
