2005 Acura MDX consumer reviews

Our first family SUV was this 2005 Acura MDX. We have four small children (ages 9,4,2 and 10mo). This SUV is perfect for a small family. I would consider it to be a mid size vehicle. Our MDX gets about 18-20mpg. It only uses Premium gas and oil. It has third row seating, leather seats, a sun roof, XM radio, heated mirrors, Onstar, luggage racks, and a handfull of more toys. The two rows in the back are bench seats, (triple on the middle row and a double on the third row). I would reccommend this vehicle to a small family like ours right now but as the children continue to grow, you will need to move into a full size SUV.

I like how it is a very comfortable ride, steering is nice, and is surprisingly fast! The car was reliable for myself and my family.

This is my second MDX. I purchased it from the original owner with 107k miles. I now have 188k 1 1/2 years later. These are fantastic cars for the money. If you are buying a used one make sure the transmission was serviced as they can fail. Have the transmission fluid changed every 30k miles. Quarter panels and hood can rust too but if you keep up on maintenance they will go forever. Mileage is below average for the size of the car.

I am so pleased with my Acura MDX! I live in Montana so having a vehicle that handles in the snow and on dirt roads is crucial, but having these features PLUS the luxury features of the MDX is like a dream come true! It is so roomy and comfortable for drives, my passengers have great views while riding in comfort, and it's even big enough to sleep inside with all back seats folded down! this vehicle is incredible!

This is my 2nd Acura. The first one I bought was 2yrs. old with 38K miles on it and lasted me for 300K miles. This is the reason I purchased another one. They drive smooth, they're stylish and very good on gas. Because they have a Honda engine the maintenance on these vehicles is very reasonable.

3.5 Honda is proven bulletproof. I'm not sure how people are getting such low mpg- for me it's 26-27 highway (65-70 mph) and 17-20 around town, if I'm easy on the throttle. So comfortable! Cheaper than a used Pilot or a highlander around here! How can you go wrong?? (You can't ;)

I bougt this car over 5 years ago. It was certified from Acura. I have never had any problems. It is reliable, safe, great in snow and drives very nice. Probably will get another used MDX when the time comes. I have 90,000 miles on it and no complaints.

I have always been a Honda lover, but with a 3 year old and a 5 year old, as well as a 6'4 husband, I needed more space than,my accord could offer. We test drove the Pacifica and MDX, and I just had to have the MDX. As a taller family of 4, I needed leg room all around, and the added bells and whistles of the leather interior, nav, DVD system, xm radio, and third row seat had me sold. I know acura is a luxury car, but I wasn't expecting the perfection we got for the $. We've haf our baby for 2 months, and its proven safe, reliable, and more than comfortable for the whole family

The MDX was a great car, I drive about 28K a year. At 100k it needed cadalitic converters and a timing belt $4000. But trade in was $11,000 so we decided to trade in
