I have read a lot of reviews and all I hear are people complaining that this and that is out dated. You will be surprised how much tech this car really has. My aunt just bought a brand new 2012 Toyota Rav4 and that car cannot beat the Acura TL in the tech. Amazing how someone can pay 12,000 more for the car (yes being 5 years older) but not having the same tech features such as the 2006 Acura TL. My dad bought a 2012 Honda Pilot with touring package and his car has the same amount of tech as mine does and I have a base model Acura TL. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of phone functions and blue tooth that the 2006 TL has. For a car being 5 years old behind technology I found no fault with paring my new HTC Evo LTE with the system. My car came with an IPOD connection already and yes the navigation does look like it was built by atari but you need the navigation to get you to places not display a graphical game. The main thing is that it works. The car drives beautifully. The electronics are fantastic for being from 2006. The comfort of the car is outstanding especially when it comes to the automated lumbar support. That was my biggest issue in the last car. I will never go to another car because this car has spoiled me. Most of the time when you buy a car it is what you can get for the money. Well, this car sure did it for me. I bought this car used. I had it checked over and everything was perfect condition except for part of the drive belt pulley system was tight and it had to be replaced but the dealer ship did it for me right away without having to pay a dime. I think that if you drive this car and think about the features that it did for a 2006 instead of 2012, then you would appreciate this car a lot more.

What a value... If you're looking to buy a car with cash, the TL's are a great choice. Extremely reliable, has all the fun gadgets, great torque, and very comfortable. Every detail I would rate with 4 or more stars. If you want a dependable and affordable ride to get you from point A to point B, take a look at the 2004-2008 TL's.

I have had many different types of cars over the 40 years I have been driving and the Acura TL is probably one of my favorites. Totally reliable! The car spoils you. The stereo is definitely the best I have ever heard in a car. I leased it for 3 1/2 years and hated to turn it in.

I am very happy with my TL, I'm learning to appreciate the more 'aggressive' feel since I had previously driven a Lexus. By using cars.com, I was able to get a price well below the sticker price the dealer listed for people who just showed up at the lot to look for a car. There are many features to learn on this car, and the buggiest one is probably the Acura HandsFreeLink. This is probably nit-picky on my part though, because this bluetooth system has to be able to work with hundreds, if not thousands, of bluetooth-enabled phones. I am using a MyTough 3G with Android 1.6. Pairing the phone to the bluetooth system sometimes leaves me unable to adjust the volume of my car's speakers. The trunk space isn't great, but I can live with it. The interior is spacious and the leather is mint. Gas mileage is good, I can usually squeeze out 25 mpg by driving conservatively. On the highway I'm usually around 31 mpg. Overall, I am very satisfied and plan on keeping my car for a long time.

I have had this car since it was new and it now has 155K miles. I have a 6-speed manual with NAV. This is the most reliable car I have ever had, is fun to drive, and still looks great. I have never loved the front end appearance of Acuras, but I am being picky. I drive this car 25k per year, and still enjoy driving it. It is fast, comfortable, and sexy. Great value. I put winter tires on it, which helps a lot, traction only "ok" without winter tires.

Have owned the car for over a year and decided to show my appreciation by writing a review. I love the exterior cut. Its sporty, yet serious and elegant. Not presumptious yet impressive to any casual observer. My wife was against me getting it as she preferred the appeal of a Mercedes C class or BMW 3 series, however she will routinely admire it when she walks by it to her car and says she is grateful that I never listened to her. Interior: let me preface that i am short therefore spacing is perfect. The leather is the best I've seen in any other luxury brand. Still in mint condition and the details such as door nobs and panels are obviously lined with quality materials. Trunk space is not that big but practical in shape. Back seats do not fold which can be a vice. The ride is excellent, minimum road noise (I recommend the wind guard on the moon roof). Acceleration is beautiful and handling is as good as can be expected. Gas mileage is decent, remember it is a V6 and runs best with Premium gas. If this is a problem for your budget do not choose this vehicle. Navigation system is great, updates are ridiculously expensive, cant knock the model for that however. Love the blue tooth functionality and surround sound is great. Overall it is an amazing car, best value in its class by far. Also believe its the best generation. Would not consider upgrading to the new model unless they come out with one truer to this generation. Mine is a 2006 TL, 37,000 miles and it honestly looks, feels and runs like new. I dont know if I will ever feel the need to upgrade.

These cars are awesome. I haven't had any issues so far, and I'm at 107,000 miles. Love the ride and handling. Best car I've ever owned. I never want to let it go.

Acura delivers value for money in the 3G TL. The car has many features that are standard; leather, blueetooth, memory seats, to name a few. The 3G TL maintains the sleek profiles of Acura's of old (read Legend). The same cannot be said of the 4G TL. The car feels a little front heavy when one starts driving but one quickly get used to it. The car moves without hesitation and invites the driver to floor it. Driving the TL is fun and I have especially enjoyed the car on long distance travel. Pros: Great value for the money, Honda/Acura reliability Cons: Front heavy ride, rattling noise that comes and go and very hard to diagnose

Ultimate Car for a sales guy

I picked up my 2006 TL with Navi in March. As a sales guy, I've put 20k miles on it. My friends nicknamed it "Air Force One" because I can call the closest Mexican restaurant in an unfamiliar city from the GPS system over bluetooth wihtout taking my hands of the wheels. I counted - there are 13 buttons on the steering wheel alone. I love that. It feels luxurious because all the small technological details are built-in: your side mirror tilts down in reverse and the rear view mirror dims. Hold down the "unlock" on the keyless - and the windows roll down. I can't find ANYTHING in a Mercedes or BMW that the TL can't do. None of the really cool things are obvious until you start driving it. The only problem I have with the car is the torque-steer, and I think that's because it is a front wheel drive vehicle which is a little strange to me. Also - the outside could be a little more flashy, but that's such a trivial trade-off considering the quality of the car. For someone that does a lot of talking and navigating - just suck it up and learn the bluetooth and navi system. It's like having a cell phone for the first time - you'll wonder how you used to hold a phone up to your ear and navigate with maps.

In my opinion, acura has reached the pinnacle of engineering and style with this generation Acura TL (2006). The car is both beatiful and reliable. The 6-spd manual is slick and fun to drive. It is fast, handles like it's on rails and is very comfortable. This is my favorite sport sedan I have ever owned. Previously, I drove a 2000 Maxima, which was a good car, but did not excite my senses like the Acura. The Car I owned before the Maxima was the Acura Vigor, which turned into the 2.5TL back in the mid 90's. The Vigor was an excellent and exciting car. I knew I needed to get another Acura. They are the best cars on the road for the money. The only complaint I have about the car is that the interior room isn't good with a baby seat in the back. If we have another kid I am going to have to sell it! :( In my opinion, over the last 20 years there have been a few cars that stand out. These seem to be highly sought after and might turn into classics one day. They are the Acura Legend Coupe, the BMW 3-series, Lexus IS and the 04-08 Acura TL. The new TL is ugly. The grill is such a turnoff that I wouldn't trade mine with 94K for a new one right now!
