BMW i3

Great looking for an EV auto. Disappointed in the Harmon-Kardon sound system. Really not up to my standards. This is not a family car, nor for anyone who's going to do some serious driving.

Excellent all around.

by Executive. from Alpharetta, GA on Sun Feb 12 2017

The i3 is an excellent vehicle all around. Range can go beyond 75 miles if driven responsibly. I enjoy this machine as much as I enjoy my X5 and 5 sedan. Electrical consumption barely noticeable in our power bill. Fast, impressive torque, high safety standards and much more. Handling is a typical Bavarian.

Best car I've owned so far! With a 70 mile electric range with 60 mile gas backup range it serves great as a daily driver and weekend getaway car!

Handling, range, reliability, comfort and responsiveness. Free ownership too. BMW produced a master piece.

Our Take on the 2016 BMW i3

Editor's note: This review was written in November 2015 about the 2015 BMW i3. Little of substance has changed with this year's model. To see what's new for 2016, click here, or check out a side-by-side comparison of the two model years.

Cars don't get much more bizarre than the 2015 BMW i3, an electric hatchback with surprising room and comfort but a whole lot of head-scratchers.

The first product from BMW's "i" electric sub-brand, the i3 launched for the 2014 model year. Changes for 2015 amount to a few more standard features (compare the two model years here), none of which keep the i3 from being a rolling science project.

The car's electric motor and battery have an EPA-estimated range of 81... Read More
