Best sports sedan in the market

by soooma from Charlotte on Sat Jun 14 2014

I love this car and I had so many sports sedans before but never enjoyed a car that much! Exhauste could be louder but open the valves and you will be good No more power needed -:) More than enough AWD is the next logical step

2014 M5

by Joeld from Sacramento on Tue Oct 29 2013

Just recently traded in my v10 M5 for the new twin turbo v8. The car has huge power and the new transmission is the best in the biz.. The new one is leaps ahead of the previous model in almost every way. The one area that seems to be a trend with BMW and all others is weight gain. The car is a few hundred pounds heavier than my previous model. You feel it, even with the increased power. You feel it in the handling. Overall great car. Keep the M badge true BMW!

BMW M5 - the best of both worlds!

by BMW M Fan from New Jersey on Fri Sep 12 2014

Owned a 2009 BMW M3 Coupe for 5 years and loved every day. Was a hard recession parting with it and even harder finding a vehicle that would bring such fun and excitement to everyday driving. Looked at the new M3/4, the Jaguar F Type R, Mercedes SL550 and even Porsche. Finally settled on the M5 because it had equal to greater performance to the M3 but with vastly more comfort and usability ( at least to me). The M3 is great for twisty roads and quick acceleration between two points, but the M5 just eats long distances with comfort and style! It has huge power when needed and it's so effortless you have to keep an eye open to stay within the speed limits. Driving the M5 is fun and exciting, the electronic features make day to day living with car a pleasure. It's bigger than the M3/4, smaller than an M6 - with more inside room than both for 4-5 passengers, and Theron lies the driver behind the decision. If you want power, style , features and space for more than 2 people, you won't be unhappy with an M5.

Don;t Know specs

by mystery man from on Wed Oct 21 2015

Not sure why this is listed as a 6-speed manual when clearly it's not. If they can't differentiate, they've lost my business

Fast and the Luxurious

by M_Rod from OMAHA, Ne on Tue May 29 2018

This vehicle breathes speed and luxury!! It drives so comfortable and smooth that you have to constantly check your speed to ensure your not breaking the speed limit. When you are sitting inside, your more comfortable than when sitting in your dad's recliner! The leather seats just hug you and make you feel like a part of the car. If you've never owned or tested a BMW M5... You are definitely missing out on one of the best driving experiences on the road!!

Our Take on the 2014 BMW M5

Editor's note: This review was written in January 2013 about the 2013 BMW M5. Little of substance has changed with this year's model. To see what's new for 2014, click here, or check out a side-by-side comparison of the two model years.

The ultimate 5 Series sedan — ranking above the 535i and 550i — BMW's M5 is blazingly fast. This four-door "family sedan" with 560 horsepower and insane acceleration rivals the thrill of most dedicated, two-door sports cars. Channeling the M5's tremendous power is a six-speed manual transmission, which high-horsepower super-sedans like Mercedes' E63 AMG and CLS63 AMG and the Audi S6 don't offer. Compare the M5 with those sedans here.
