The quitest car I have ever owned

This car drives great and with the 8 way power seat sits comfortably for longer trips. Now for the down side. I have no idea how they managed to get 32 MPG I have driven less than 2000 miles but the best highway MPG I managed to get was 28, not too bad considering this is almost a 5000lb vehicle but even at 55MPH it didn't budge above 28. Most local driving produces 22 to 26MPG On the good side my insurance actually went DOWN! I suspect this has to do with the safety ratings and all the side airbags but I didn't question it. Wish heated seats were included.

feel like my daughter was flimflammed

My daughter purchased a 2011 Equinox. Chose the 5 seat & small engine for fuel economy. Car doesn't get as good gas mileage as my '02 Honda Odessey. Every time she gets in the veh. she is frustrated because she feels taken. Ruined the whole new car experience. Only gets 22 miles to the gallon at 55mph. Don't fall for the sticker lies.

Big Kid Speaks

Great SUV for the price. Definitely not 600 miles per tank but the gas mileage is pretty good. The size is deceiving from the outside, but it's very spacious on the inside. Also, I was hesitant about getting a four cylinder bc I was used to driving a 6. There really isn't a difference with the Equinox. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Overated MPG

The Equinox gets nowhere near the EPA MPG ratings. I have talked to other Equinox owners and they report the same results. I generally get about 24 MPG on the highway at 65 MPH with my 2011 4 cyl, AWD, Equinox, not the EPA rating of 28 MPG. Very disappointed with this as I bought the Equinox because of its higher MPG ratings.

Great Vehicle

I test drove many vehicles before deciding on the Equinox. It rides extremely well for an SUV and thanks to the laminated windshield and front passenger windows, the cabin is extremely quiet. I purchased a 4 cylinder, front wheel drive to maximize fuel mileage. I've only had the vehicle for 2 weeks and I'm very impressed. The LS trim package has more features than you might expect and more than I will use. I drive an equal amount of in town and highway miles each week and so far, I've average 23-25 miles per gallon. After the vehicle is broken in, I expect even better mileage. I absolutely love the satellite radio and will probably keep the subscription after the free trial time period is over. I added after market body moldings to prevent door dents and dings. I have no idea why GM doesn't provide these as standard equipment. Likewise, I think a roof rack should be standard on all models as well. Otherwise, I love everything about the exterior appearance. The sliding and reclining rear seat is one of the best features of the vehicle. It provides so much flexibility with passenger leg room and comfort. There is more than enough cargo room when my entire family is traveling. This is the perfect size vehicle for anyone who wants a family SUV with a great ride, many features and good fuel mileage.

Great Car!

I live in Chicago but bought my 2010 Equinox 2LT in Denver since a white 2LT with 6 cylinder and AWD was hard to find. Have traveled as far east as North Carolina. I have driven over 23,000 miles in 6 months. Other than 3 oil changes and 1 set of wiper blades, I have only put gas in the 'Nox. I'm glad that I got the V-6 and still get very good gas mileage and the extra power I wanted for driving in the Colorado and New Mexico mountains. The All Wheel Drive made me feel safe in midwestern winter driving. My husband has a 2010 Honda CR-V but we take the 'Nox when we travel together for pleasure. The CR-V is better suited for local driving and shopping. The 'Nox is our road car. Plenty of power, very quiet inside and very nice seats and controls. The dealer has been very nice. I love the heated leather seats, the sunroof and the Pioneer stereo system. You gotta go see and drive this car! I feel more secure knowing that OnStar is in the car with me and XM Radio makes my long drives much more enjoyable. I think it is a lot more car than most higher priced imports. It is nice to know that I bought a great car from an American car company. My last car was a Chevy Blazer that had 169,000 miles when I sold it. Very few problems and I liked that car. I Love My New 'Nox!

LOVE all the little extras!!!

I had researched cars for months and loved the Equinox on paper - then the second I went to test drive one I fell in love. I had no intentions of buying new but didn't want one older than a 2010 but when looking at the 2010's I noticed I couldn't get them much cheaper, if any cheaper, than a new 2011 so I got the new one. I have the 1LT and added the Drivers Convenience package with the bluetooth, backup camera, and power driver seat and LOVE it! The bluetooth has been wonderful when I'm driving and a good thing to have in case my state, like many others, go to outlawing using cellphones while driving. The backup camera is also a great feature to have. I was a little worried about the 4 cylinder engine since my old car had a sporty V6. It took a little getting used to but it really is not that bad at all. I just took it on a short trip and I had no problems merging onto highways and getting through rush hour traffic in a big city. I also like the ability to connect my MP3 player to the car so now I have my whole music collection at my fingertips in the car. The XM radio is something that I didn't really think I'd want but I've fallen in love with it during the free trial and will be continuing it. The front and back seats have a LOT of room for tall people which is good since I'm 6' and my daughter is already tall for her age and will probably hit 6' as well. She loves all the extra room in the back. Overall, I LOVE my Equinox and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

leg room front and back for people over 6'

Great vehicle to drive and ride, but the mpg are way over rated for the four cylinder with front wheel drive, (22 city/32 highway) my milage at best is 24 on the highway, level road, cruse set at 58. I usualy do better than the ratings, not this time!

2nd Brand New Chevy.

We picked up a 2011 Chevy Equinox 2LT this past Saturday. We absolutely love this vehicle. The interior is gorgeous!!! The nice leather seats with the stitching looks very nice. There are more options on the dashboard than I can name. The one thing that did notice is that when cruising a low speeds, the gears switch a little rough, but at faster speeds, it is very smooth. Overall, an excellent vehicle for the money.
