Very Happy with the car

I am very happy with the Equinox. Feel safe in it and it is very comfortable. Can't wait to take it on a trip. Gas mileage for a SUV is unbelievable. I am getting exactly what they had said, 22 mpg around town and should get 32 on the HGy. The dealership I delt with was very nice and not pushy at all. Got a excellent deal on it. Love the color "Silver Ice". Hard to say if it will be dependable or not, have only owned it for 2 months. but it is a chevy and they are usually dependable.

This is a Chevy?

A great little performer, or little great performer. For its size I'd like a more cargo room. But after that I've achieved 36mpg, @ 55 mph. And don't be afraid of the award winning 4 cyl. It will run all day at 77 mph. Moves out into traffic with ease. Ordered LT2 with roof and leather; those packages give you plenty from fog lights, 9 speaker Pioneer sound system, heated seats & mirrors, backup camera, bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and more. Gets many compliments, and they ask; 'Thats a Chevrolet?' Tranny will learn your driving style.

Very happy with our purchase!

My husband and I drove the Equinox back in 2008, and while we liked it alright, we ended up buying a Prius for the gas mileage. Well, here we are three years later replacing our other car, and we came back to try the Equinox again. With one child on her own and one in college, we didn't really need a huge vehicle but we wanted something with a bit more space and versatility in addition to our Prius and still decent gas mileage. We were immediately impressed with the changes that were made for the redesign of the Equinox in 2010. In a decision between the Toyota Rav4, the Ford Escape, and the Chevy Equinox, the Equinox won hands down. The seats are supportive and comfortable, it rides like a dream, and it has more features than most even on the base LS. We opted for the 2011 2LT with the optional sunroof added.....nice! The heated premium cloth seats are wonderful in northern NY winters, the bluetooth calling feature is fantastic and easy to use.....no more digging for my phone in my purse and having to deal with the speakerphone to make a call. Now, we've had our car for a couple weeks, and there are a few negatives, though they aren't enough to spoil our impression with this car. The mileage stated is no where near what we've been getting so far. Still good for the size of the car, but a little disappointing. There is a pretty big blind spot between the front windshield and the door windows. And I find that the 4-cyl. engine has a bit of a lag when you're coasting at slow speed (like coming to a light) and then put your foot on the gas to speed up again. It hesitates enough to make it a bit annoying. Otherwise, it has enough pep for me in my daily driving. On the plus side, there is tons of leg room in the back seat, versatility in the seat position, the blue dash and cabin lighting is nice, the display in the center of the dash has several screens you can toggle between (including avg. mpg, avg. speed, digital speedometer, trip odometers, etc.). After owning a Prius, I love that I can also keep track of my avg. mpg while driving like I do with the Prius. The stereo is top-notch, and car has plenty of cargo space for moving our college kid home without driving around unused space the rest of the year. I love the adjustable driver seat with lumbar support. This car will be great on long trips! It feels like a quality car, and we're very happy with the Equinox!

dissapointed in front view obstructions

poor visability for driver because of wide front posts between windshield & door window & placement of very large rear view mirrors. Cannot see front end of vehicle, difficult to parallel park. Windshield wipers & WASHERS on driver side, poor design, does NOT clean windshield on driver side. DANGEROUS! Door lock placement inconvenient. Console shift lever "crowds" driver when trying to use cup holders..(need my morning coffee). BUT. handles great. MPG very dissapointing, only getting 18MPG, but hopefully will improve as more miles driven. Rear seat entry not as easy as the 2008 Equinox, maybe 2011 has deeper/larger seats?

Decent car

Great leg room for a tall person (6'5"). Like the features like blue tooth, hand controls on the wheel. Handles ok, but not agile like a smaller car. Rides fine. Downsides include: actual mileage not as high as hoped or touted, heater is borderline - in MN, have to put on high alot to keep warm.

Best Bang For My Buck

This is the first car I've ever bought. After looking at 10 diffrent cars out there, this was the best package. (Chev EQ 2LT) Other places wanted extra money for things that this came with ie, sun roof, heated leather seats, etc. It has a nice exterior and a classy inside. Smooth Ride. Great sound system and quiet cabin. Love the light blue dash lights. not to bright or overpowering. Comfy Ride. I've had this car for 3 months and have been happy ever since.

Best Car for the Money

I awaited the Equinox, and finally got one last month. Just got the LS- the value for under $23,000 is crazy. It rides like a luxury car, is huge inside, esp. rear seat. The electronics are up to date and give all the info you need. Yes it is a 4 cylinder and lacks a little power, but are we not looking for good MPG?

A True Pleasure

For the past nearly 10 years I have been an avid Toyota owner. After my third one I was convinced that I would probably never buy a US made car again. Several weeks ago my wife came to me to tell me about a close friend of hers and the new Chevy Equinox that she had just purchased. My wife has never demonstrated any particular excitement over any car till now. She repeatedly kept after me to go look at the Equinox. This past week I had started to look for a replacement for out 2005 Highlander. I was pretty much sold on a new Highlander but my wife kept insisting that I look at the Equinox. I finally gave in and made an apointment with a Chevy saleman at a local dealer. Well to my absolute surprise I found myself signing the purchase agreement for the Equinox. The Equinox is a little smaller and with the 4 cyl engine it does not have the performance but I found this car so handsome and such complete package of driving ammenities that it is a true pleasure. Add to that it comes at nearly $10,000.00 less and it was not hard to make it my choice. As the car is so new it is really unfair to rate it for reliability but I have the feeling that in view of every thing else, reliabilit will not be a disapointment.

Quiet and Comfortable

I've been driving my 2011 Equinox for 6 weeks now and I still look forward to getting in it each time. The exterior looks great--lots of compliments on it. The interior is very comfortable and quiet. Best of all, the ride is very smooth, and feels like a luxury car ride. Also it's roomy in the backseat--no complaints from my 6 ft. son. The steering wheel controls are handy but just a little quirky to use, but I'm really loving the Bluetooth. There is tons of storage--the console can fit a laptop! One thing I don't like is a huge blind spot caused by the support connecting the passenger window and the windshield. Also I'm not getting the gas mileage that Chevy claims Equinox should get. But overall I'm very happy with it and it is a great vehicle for the price.

Love my Equinox

I spent many months researching and testdriving Crossovers, and looked at the Acura RDX, Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX and Lincoln MKX, and Ford Edge. While looking at the Cadillac I happened to spot a Equinox, which i didnt even consider perhaps for snobbish reasons. I arranged a testdrive and The Equinox drove beautifully, was solid, and the cabin was very quiet. I found out that it also had just about all the other features that the others had but at 10-15k less! And in my opinion, it looks as good or better inside and out. Since buying it, my opinion of it has grown sevenfold. I got the V6 since i have a bit of a leadfoot and it is quicker then i was lead to believe. It is a joy to drive and get many compliments, whereever we go. Now we are taking that 10-15K we saved and going to Italy!!
