Bought my Traverse in 2009 and I love it. I bought it for long trips with my grandchildren ETC. I also own a B&B so every once in a while I need to go to town for more food for my guests. So the back hach is very handy. I haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend this car to anyone.

We have had our Traverse for over a year, and it is a beautiful vehicle. The interior is comfortable and roomy, however it is hard to get someone who is over 6 feet tall in the very back and seat them comfortably. It has lots of room for transporting boxes of groceries. It came with neat gadgets such as Onstar, satellite radio, and in-car phone but all of these were quite expensive and I don't see us re-buying them.

We are about 6 months into our ownership of our Traverse. It's been trouble free and fits our family well. I should note to a previous reviewer, that the spare tire and jack is a $75 option on the LS, so if their dealer is charging $700, they should try another dealer, and maybe she should have searched for a vehicle with that option. We have a 1LT package, and it's perfect for us. Seat heat and maybe remote start would be the only things I would have liked to add that I couldn't. My only complaints are very minor: I wish the trunk was larger. It fills up fast with stuff for 3 kids on vacation. This seems to be a problem with any 3 row vehicle though, but minivans seem to manage a larger cargo hold. Also, I wish the shape of the trunk opening wasn't rounded. I'm not sure why they did this other than looks, but it makes it hard to load wide items (like a projection TV) because you have to lift them over these lips in order to get it in the car. We do love the Traverse, and in lower level trim like the LT1, it doesn't feel stripped down like the Acadia did when similarly equipped.

I have been a suburban driver most of my life and LOVE THEM. My family needed a second car that could seat as many as the the Suburban and the Traverse is that car. We looked at a bunch of Crossovers and Suvs but found the Traverse to be a fantastic vehicle that is reasonably priced. It drives great is very spacious inside and I feel safe in it!!

I've had my Traverse for almost 3 years and I've had no troubles with it that weren't fixed by my local dealership, under warranty, within a week. It's a great drive, it doesn't look like a mom-mobile and it's very dependable. It has a ton of room, the seats fold down easily and I've never had any trouble in bad weather. My only complaint is for those of us who don't get the leather package. Why aren't all the seats adjustable automatically instead of manually, the lever is in a terrible place on the passenger side. Love the back up camera, since I didn't need the GPS or DVD system. I've recommended this car to several people, including my mom, who drives a Z71 Tahoe.

After purchasing the 2009 Chevy Traverse a few weeks ago, I found the Traverse to be the best crossover/SUV for the money. Its ride hight is great and althought it is a big vehicle it is nimble and drives like a luxury sedan. The 3.6 liter V-6 offers plenty of power at 281 horsepower push this 4,700 pound SUV. After shopping for days and looking at what rival companies had to offer the Traverse was by far the best vehicle for my money. With leather interior, 10-speaker Bose stero, poweed tail-gate, three rows of seats (which seats 8 adult passangers), a 5 star safety rating, and 12 cup holders, this crossover is a must see. At first I was not in love with its exterior styling but after a test drive it the most impresive 7-8 passanger vehicle I have driven. For thousands of dollars less than other crossovers/SUV's it is an excellent value. Nothing but a 5 star rating from me.

I also loved my 2009 til I hit about 30,000 miles. Then the problems began. I am now at 73,000 miles & have had transmission, steering system, ABSsystem, cruise control, Master Cylinder, water pump, drive train, heating & cooling damper system, & more go out. At one point it was undriveable z& just stopped due to something breaking in the engine & having metal fragments! Engine light just came on again & I received an On Star Diagnosis that there is now an Emissions problem. My husband has a 2011 & has had several of the same things go out. Last time we went in my 11 yr Old said, why did they say, "see you soon" as we were leaving!!! There are major problems with these vehicles. Thank goodness I got an extended warranty but will have to get rid of this in August when extended warranty is up. Most items have been covered under warranty except for about $1000. Total repairs have been over $15000!

Solid 7 passenger SUV, would buy another one

by from on March 18, 2013

This is our first SUV, we traded in a minivan, and so far we really like our Chevy Traverse, it's easy for the kids to get in and out, getting into the 3rd row is no problem as well.
