Worst car ever
I bought this Caliber used in August. In 46 years of buying cars.......this is the worst I have ever purchased. I do like the color and from there it goes down hill. The power to weight ratio sucks. Acceleration is not smooth at all. The brakes grab if you apply a little too much pressure. The body leaks every time it rains and in Florida that can be almost every day. The back seat is not big enough for my 4 year old grandson to sit comfortably. Do not even think about getting 2 adults in there. There is not much room in the cargo compartment. I will say that the only really nice thing in the car is the radio. And that is very sad. I have 2 years left to pay it off and I might just make it a reef for fish when I am done. I am sure they would enjoy it.

Yeah, not the car. Move on
I have owned my Caliber for two years now. I loved it at first and it was everything I wanted minus the 4x4. I loved the orange color, the big tires, the way it handled, the pretty radio and that I felt safe in it. Those all stand true still after two years but this car is a car I would trade in in a heart beat. I have had to replace my front ball joints and tie rods in February. In June I had to replace the rear control arm twice. Currently a month later I am still having an issue with the control arm and now my abs pulses when I brake (had the same issue in my grand am from the accident it was in prior to my purchase of it). The handling is amazing in the car and it parks in small spaces nicely as well. The transmission is a super loud whining noise and when you let off the brake a stupid squeak happens that the dealership said is nothing to be alarmed about. I just want them to wd-40 but apparently it does nothing if they do. The inside of my car makes this squeak/rattle noise from the seat belts which can get annoying on my long drive to work. These problems can be taken as they are and at first I didn't mind them, but because I drive so much it is starting to really irritate me. The thing that makes me mad the most is all the tire problems I am having. I want to trade this car in but I still owe two years so I will just deal for another two years and then trade it in.

Caliber
This is the second Caliber I have owned. The pickup is great for a 4 cylinder. Handling is good and the interior is better than I expected. The transmission shifts smooth and is aggressive. Well build car and I get 24-25 mpg in the city. Not bad!!!

Horrible gas mileage for a 4 cylinder
I bought this car used from a dealer it was previously a fleet car so it was 1 year old with 40k miles on it and i calculated the in town gas mileage and i got 17 mpg and then took it on a road trip to nc (7 hrs away) there and back and got 21 mpg and had to fill up 4 times!!!! the dealer wont do anything because there is no error codes and its frusterating paying $240 a month for a car that uses gas like a v8 truck with bogg tires and a lift kit! also the left rear tailight has blown 8 times in 2 years and once again the dealer wont do squat! its a nice handleing car but a very noisy drive as outside noise comes right in! the suspention is awful, ir feels like you bottom out everytime you hit a bump and the acceleration and breaking is so sensitive that it also contributes to the poor gas mileage! I have found that if you hit the traction control button EVERYTIME YOU GET IN THE CAR that it does help on the mpg! I live in ohio and one thing i can say is that for a FWD vehicle it is great in the snow! Overall I cant wait to get rid of this piece of junk and trade it in!

Dissappointed That I Got This Car
I purchased this car brand new in within a couple of weeks or so, this car drove like I had it for several years. The transmission does not have very much power and the acceleration is terrible. When going over bumps in the road feels like the car is going to fall apart. Issues with the steering column which I believe stems from a 2011 recall. The only thing I can say I like about the vehicle is the exterior design other than that I can't say that I am pleased.

Cool color, cool car
My little Caliber is a fun car to drive. I love how it handles and drives around town. It has been on 2 major trips since I've owned it and the gas mileage is awesome. I was able to get 300 miles before the gas fill up light came on. Even though I don't use it often I think the "cooler" in the glove box is a nice treat. I was able to keep my bottled tea cool during the long ride.

Nice Car, but rattles
It's a nice looking car and it handles great. It's also lower priced and built a little flimsy. Not overly sturdy, but sufficient, I guess. I don't expect the handles to break, but the doors bow in when you lean on them. The frame also rattles and squeaks when you go over a bump. Not really a problem, but it feels a little flimsy. I'm getting highway MPG in the mid 20s. For this light of a car, I'd expect high 20s or low 30s. Also, the braking takes a little getting used to. Since it reacts quickly. It has some nice features, but definitely a low-end car.
