my durango
i have an 06 and i love it. the 330 hp 5.7 has plenty of punch for an suv. the full time 4 wheel drive adds to the handeling and comes in handy in the snow. if its bad enough the lockers make it a great 4 wheel drive. the interior is roomie and with the dvd system keeps the kids happy.

Okay Vehicle
Overall our 2006 Dodge Durango faired okay. We are nearing the end of our lease and during the 3 years we have had it, it has had at least 3 recalls. Ocassionally the vehicle will stall while driving (this has happened at least 5 times). But, again, overall it was okay, handled well and does great in the snow and adverse weather conditions. Nice for transporting large groups of kids. Also nice that you can fold down rear seats for large loads.

So Far So Good
I haven't had my Durango long, but so far I am really happy with it!! I got it about 2 and half weeks ago!! I traded my Mazda Tribute for it, which I miss sometimes, but I am still glad I got the Durango!! I got a great deal on a demo with 160 miles on it!! So far I am happy with this change. It doesn't have 3rd row seeting but I don't need it. It doesn't have a cassette player like the Mazda, but I am getting used to that. It only holds 1 CD at a time, big deal huh LOL!!! It runs great and my gas mileage is not bad at all!! The ride is smooth and the seats are the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in!! I love the looks on the outside!! All I need now are my rain guards and a bug shield and it will be all good!! I hope everything stays okay with it!! I am sure it will!!

GOOD LOOKING CAR BUT SOME BAD FEATURES
We purchased our 2006 Durango new in August 2006. It has the V6 engine and does not have the third rear seat. We bought it for the roominess and it was our first SUV. It is missing features I would now want on a new car this is our fault not Dodge's. The front seat skirting is thin cheap plastic. Even the dealer has told us they have to replace them all the time. Still in waranity we have replaced them twice and see this as an ongoing problem as long as we keep car. Lot of the other inside is plastic also. As for reliability we have had several problems with it starting. About six months after we bought it - it refused to start and we had it at the dealer twice. They fixed something on top of the starter the second time. Recently we had gone to church and it again did not start. We had it pulled into the dealer and it started so they could not fix it. Two days later it refused to start at home. We had it pulled in and they were able to repair it this time. They had to replace the whole starter. This was about two weeks ago. Yesterday at the mall it would not start again. After going around with an inconfident clerk at their roadside service who couldn't even figure out where we were for 15 minutes it started. (Other times we have called their roadside assistance the service has been excellent.) Is is working fine now but know when we really need it the Durango will fail to start. Would love to trade it in but with gas prices figure we are stuck with it. I don't usually write reviews but this Durango has been a pain. Like the roominess, comfort, and it great on the road. Handles well and has lots of pickup. Gas milage is not what we were promised. If it were not for the reliability facture and cheap plast interior features would probably be happy with SUV.

"typical SUV,reliable, excellent exterior design"
The 2006 Dodge Durango I own is equipped with a V8 engine, automatic transmission, along with power windows, power steering, and also seven passenger seating which is extrodinary while traveling with the family. As far as electronics are concerned, it is equipped with an AM/FM stereo and a CD player. The Durango is also equipped with 3 power outlets.

Great Family SUV
We bought this SUV used a couple of months ago. My wife wanted an upgrade from her 2003 Chevy Blazer and I wanted something I could tow my off-road rig with. This truck is great! We bought the Limited fully loaded. The Hemi is awesome, the interior features are top notch, and it handles like a dream. I haven't towed with it yet, but it has the towing package and we'll be doing some towing this summer. Overall, I would have to say it is an outstanding SUV. My only gripe is the front and rear torsion bar suspension...that means I'll never be able to lift it and put bigger tires on it. :)

Great Ride
After researching the larger SUVs, and deciding a the Durango, I feel my efforts have paid off. For it's size, it's a smooth ride, and easy to drive. It would be nice to have some extra features on the inside, but not necessary. We look forward to using the Durango to tow our boat, I'm quite confident the v8 will handle it with ease. The space inside is great!

Very nice ride
The only thing I don't like about it is that it does not have 3rd row seating, which ome do. Mine has a tow pkg on it, and I will be pulling my boat soon
