Most comfortable SUV I've driven

I leased this 2006 Durango SXT in October 2006. It has AUTOMATIC AWD. In the heaviest snow I never had to use the switch to lock the 4wd system. It automatically shifts for the conditions and works much better than my old Explorer, which I thought was great also. I've never had a problem and 1 recall notice. Got a great deal on trade and the lease was minus the residual value at the end of 39 months. Love this SUV better than the old 1994 Explorer Limited. For a base model it comes very well equipped. Ride is smooth and comfortable and 7 passengers and gear doesn't affect handling at all. A little bigger than previous model but much improved. Last drove a 1999 Durango SLT Plus and my 2006 has much better handling. This is the best smaller SUV I've ever driven, and I am quite satisified with it so far.

What a differance

This Durango is a replacement for my wifes 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5,2 V8. What a differance. Smother, Quiter, Great feachers. The power of the 5.7 V8 is great. We bought a used 2006 with a few thousand miles. Great value for the dollar.

Hard to beat for the Money, Super Smooth!

I have had an Expedition, Astro Van and had quite a bit of trouble out of those so I thought we would go with a Chrysler product. Actually we looked at several smaller SUVs. Hyundai SanteFe, Kia, Toyota etc... And for the money this was a Must Buy! We wanted to stay at or near $25,000.00. It's hard to believe how FEW SUVs there are for this amount of money. Even the Kia and Hyundai were near $30,000.! And they had V6 engines and kinda a cheesy interior compared to the Durango. We got the SXT 4X4 with the 4.7 V8. It seems so smooth. The transmission is another joy, shifts are almost impossible to feel. We went to one of those huge multi line dealerships that had everything and drove 4 or 5 SUVs. The Durango just felt right, great ride, solid feel great driveline! Buy One you'll like it.

Best SUV so far

Have owned Ford Bronco, Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango x2. This is my favourite so far. Dodge had some small convenience features in the 2002 Durango that should have been transfered to the 2006, but overall a more solid comfortable capable ride. Towing is a breeze, performance is great (for an SUV), Inside comfort and noise are excellent.

I don't know I am not happy we just bought an 06 Durango and I really don't like it, It was supposed to be a car for me, the stay at home Mom but the husband wanted the hemi. Figures. So now I have a car with almost no features that I was looking for, how does a 30k car not have a temp sensor.

Best for the buck

I recently purchased this SUV and could not be happier. I researched many different makes and felt that this was the best value for the money. I ended up going with the Limited 4x4 Hemi and would never look at another vehicle. The options are great and, at a price that is 10-20K less than it competitors, this car is a no brainer!!!

2005 Durango SLT Hemi

2005 Durango SLT Hemi, I average 14-15 MPG around Town & 20 -21 on the highway in Colorado. I am not a big fan of the front end, grill & head lights, however this is a great driver. Super for a family of 4. The all wheel drive makes this a super vehicle in bad weather.
