Practical ride

Great car. Not ideal for big families. Not much space in third. My wife loves the vehicle. Would be better if second row was bucket seats rather than bench for easier access to third row. Reliable, haven't had any trouble with the vehicle performance.

First time Canadian Chrysler buyer

As promised in my April 27, 2014 post, I am providing an update. The car is now two years old and has 25,000 miles on it. Our car has the 3.6 Petastar, 3?rd row seating, 8.4 inch Uconnect system, roof racks, premium sound system, DVD player, rear air conditioning, push button start, heated seats and steering wheel, back up camera and is front wheel drive only. I?ve had three problems since I bought the car. All were fixed promptly under the 3 year 36,000 mile basic warranty. The first issue was that the one of the rear floor storage compartments leaked. The dealership resealed the unit and I have not had a problem with it since. The second and third issues were with the front end. At around 20,000 miles I noticed noises from the front end when going over small bumps. The dealership replaced the struts and lower control arms and realigned the car. This fixed my front end noise problems. As noticed in other comments the transmission shifts can be a bit rough. However, I had read a number of blogs and watched a number of reviews on you tube before I bought this car and virtually every one of them said that the transmission was a little rough. So, this was expected. I did mention the rough shifts to the dealership and they reset the transmission control module back to factory settings. This did not help much. All in all I find the vehicle very comfortable and easy to drive. The 3.6 Pentastar has all the power you would ever need. The Uconnect (infotainment system) is still by far the very best I?ve seen in any vehicle. In my opinion, great value for the money, I?d recommend this car to anyone.

3rd Journey

My 2013 is my 3rd Journey. Had a 2010 and 2011 before trading up for the 2013. Has 55k miles on it now and only issues so far is the heater was turning itself on constantly. Took it in for a 'software update' and been fine since. Engine light also came on and the code was for fuel cap leak which went away on its own. Love the look of the Journey and the features in the R/T specifically.

No Problems Until Transmission Died at 55K Miles

My experience with this vehicle has been positive overall until the transmission died at 55K miles as I was cruising on the interstate. I was on the road for business and I had the vehicle towed to the nearest Dodge dealer where it took about 2-1/2 weeks to have it repaired under the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. The pump and torque converter both had to be replaced. This is very disappointing that the transmission imploded at only 55K miles and will most likely prevent me from buying another Chrysler product. I know numerous people in my area who have had major transmission problems with their Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. My last vehicle was a 2004 Honda Odyssey van which had 175K trouble free miles on it when I sold it in late 2012. I will most likely drive this Journey for the duration of my 125K extended bumper-to-bumper warranty and then go back to a Honda, Nissan or Toyota product, many of which are assembled here in the USA. unlike my Dodge Journey which was assembled in Toluca,Mexico.

my Mr. Mom mobile

Turns out this car has spoiled me. When we had our second kid, my wife and I needed more room in our ride so we traded in our beloved Caliber for a Journey. It's been great; plenty of room for us, two big car seats, and our big mutt of a dog to travel in comfort. It's reliable and it's got a load of hi-tech features so we know everything's running smoothly. Now that we're looking for a second car, I'm having a hard time replicating how much I love the Journey sxt on a smaller budget. Nothing has the same mix of space, features, and style that drew us to the Journey in the first place. The only drawback is the 4 cylinder. Most of the time it's not even noticeable, but every so often I put the pedal down and wish I had a little more power under the hood. But that's pretty rare these days; I usually have the fuel efficiency display up and try to keep things close to 21 mpg. Not shabby for city driving.

I'm getting used to it

We bought our 2013 Dodge Journey about a month ago. I took it on it's first road trip yesterday. It rides very nice and I like all the extras on it. I had a Trailblazer which sat higher and I liked that. The Dodge does ride smoother. It also has all wheel drive instead of four wheel drive. I'll see if I like that come winter.

Great Value

I purchased my Dodge Journey a month ago today from Auto Max in Ocala. FL. Dan Gallagher worked with me and helped me find the perfect vehicle, without any hassle or high pressure sales. He helped me fully understand the purchasing process and took extra time to explain all the features of the vehicle. His knowledge and experience helped me make an informed purchase. After driving my Journey for the past month, I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend Dan Gallagher and Auto Max to anyone looking to buy a car.

Very Dissapointed

I bought the 2013 Dodge Journey in November 2012. I thought it was the best vehicle I have ever owned, up until a couple of months ago. My check engine light came on and I took it in and they said there was a leak in the seal of the gas cap, so they order and installed a new one. Not even a week later my check engine light came on again, they said there was a vacuum leak. I took it back a couple more times for the same reason with in a couple of weeks. This last time the dealership had it they had it for 2 weeks and when I got it back they said they fixed the problem. Well 3 days later my check engine light came back on. I called and was told that they have to contact Crysler and find out what they are supposed to do for me, that was a week ago and no response. Very frustrating.

So Far So Good

I bought a 2013 Ddoge Journey for my wife. Her previous two cars were Vovlos. She wanted a vehicle where she sat a little higher and had a 3rd row seat for the grandchildren. I did a fair amount of research and test drove most of the popular SUV's with my wife and she decided on the Journey. In our minds the Journey was the best value for the moneyy. We have put just over 6,000 miles on it and have had no problems. The fuel consumption was a little heavy at the beggining but is getting better. We have the 6 cylinder Pentastar engine. The Uconnect system in the Journey was the easiest one to use of all the SUVs we tested. I'll report back at 10,000 miles

Leaky Car

My father bought a new 2013 Dodge Journey in July 2013. In November the car had it first leak. Lot of water ran through the ceiling and down the sides of the interior and collect inside the hatch. At least an inch or more of water was settled in the back end mixing with the wiring and sensors of the car. The service department tore the car apart 3 times to fix the leak. Now the back end of the hatch has scratched parts inside and the headliner replaced 3 times has dirty hand prints all over. Chrysler has not been helpful to my parents who are older and this issue has been stressful to them to say the least. It took a representative about a month to come look at the car and he said it was fixable and doesn't want to replace the vehicle. In extreme cases as this, Chysler/Dodge should quickly take care of the problem and replace the car. Until Chrysler takes care of this matter, I have nothing nice to say.
