  • Very Reliable

Spacious, dependable, minimal maintenance required besides routine (oil change, tires, etc.) Excellent for traveling long distances with a family. Enough room to spread out. I tow a 12' utility trailer loaded with a side by side and don't know it's even there except when I stop for gas. Wish they still made the Excursion for I would buy another one.

  • Great car!!

Great overall vehicle. The V10 is strong and dependable but not super efficient. I pulled a heavy trailer and it did a great job whenever asked.

  • Best large SUV ever built with the best diesel 7.3

We can get 8 people in it in comfort, haul our 9,000 lb Center Console boat, travel 418 miles and don't have to stop for fuel, but have to for bathroom breaks, tow at 70 to 75 miles hour and doesn't fad on hills , we have the 7.3L diesel which is as good as the 5.9L Cummings diesel , its like traveling on your sofa in front of the air conditioning

  • Best truck

I bought a new 2001 Excursion diesel in November of 2000. I still drive it. It pulls heavy trailers, holds 8 people, rides comfortably, and has been incredibly reliable. I did replace the transmission at about 100,000 miles. Again, I pulled very heavy trailers.

  • Best vehicle design ever made

No SUV/Truck has ever been designed so well. Newer vehicle designs are a disappointment in comparison. Here is why: built strong as a tank with 3/4 ton suspension, 10k+ lb towing, sterling rear axle, and Dana 50 front axle with steering stabilizer, 310 HP 425-ft-lbs of torque V10. Large vehicle with great visibility (no blindspots), seats up to 8 or 9 full size adults comfortably. Four wheel disk brakes, auto locking hubs (can also be manual locked), 4WD with locking front and rear axles. 60/40 middle row seats can fold down flat or slide forward, third row seat can fold down or can easily be removed or reinstalled in about 10 seconds. Can fit 4' x 8' plywood or drywall with second and third row seats folded. Plenty of trunk space even when all three rows of seats are occupied, convenient slide out cup holders in front, plus several extra cup holders, large deep storage console, electric side rear glass windows can be opened individually for extra ventilation. Electric heated sideview mirrors, exterior temperature, compass, fuel mileage gauges. Large heavy duty front tow hooks. Stainless exhaust. Tows trailers effortlessly. High ground clearance. Separate front and rear heat/ac and controls.

  • Very versatile truck!

We loved pour Excursion. It was 4wheel drive with the front bench seat, we could comfortably seat 9! We used it to pull our RV trailer that held our dirtbikes in it to camp and ride in the desert, yet with a good bath it cleaned up nice and we could arrive at a restaurant or concert hall all dressed up for an evening out on the town.

  • 2001 FORD EXCURSION LIMITED 4X4 7.3 POWERSTROKE DI

An over all amazing vehicle. Enough room for the entire family, pets, and maybe a friend or two ! This is a real truck ! Not a suv built of a unibody car chassis. This thing will pull your boat, your camper, and maybe your house down the street. And do it in comfort and style. Enough meeting for 8 adults. And room for luggage, gear, shopping, what ever you need. I will say if you buy one make sure it's 4x4 !!!! And don't waste your time and money on a gas version. Buy the 7.3 diesel. Avoid the 6.0 diesels. This is the SUV America needs !!

  • Big thirsty tank

Had this one for a year. Reliable but buy one that has been inspected first. Front axle D50 wears the internal bearings quick and is expensive to fix. Ride like a cement truck and could use more brakes. Love the way it looks and interior size is awesome. (I'm 6'5" and son is 6'6" plus wife and 3 others. Cannot complain on room.)
