I keep thinking that I should get a new car because my Explorer is getting old. My problem is that there is nothing wrong with the car! I do oil changes and have put one set of tires on it over the years that's it. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. The air is cold, the heat is hot, the interior is in great shape and it runs great. Why would I get a new car? It was built at the Ford factory here in Louisville. I am a true fan of Ford, my experience has been fantastic and I can truly say my next car will be a Ford.

Good truck for the cost. Interior is really nice it came with a DVD system and it has touch screen stereo. 2006 transmission has been good on this explorer. It has 165,000 miles.

Vehicle was purchased used with low mileage (87,xxx) for the year (2004) and in excellent condition. Was a one owner vehicle with proper maintenance and any necessary repairs were completed. It is comfortable, roomy, rides and drives great and looks very nice. It also has excellent view while driving. Looking at the vehicle you would not think the vehicle is a 2004. The only flaws I feel would be the average gas mileage (16/17avg overall) and air conditioning should put out more without being on max. There are a lot of these vehicles still on the road looking good and with much higher mileage so vehicle must be dependable. I have not had any issues in my short time of ownership. Great vehicle overall and I am well pleased.

Owned 2006 Explorer for 11 years. Very good SUV. Optimal size. I like the rear wheel drive and wished they still made them.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO USE IT FOR SHORT ROAD TRIPS .

I recently traded in my 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition. This was the most reliable car I can imagine. I kept up with the routine maintenance, and some brakes, tires, ball joints and a bearing got it to 200,000 miles. Once it was over 200k, it finally needed the transmission replaced. The original engine was closing on 250,000 miles on it when I traded it in, and was in great shape. With 4WD, it would go through any conditions, including some very harsh New Hampshire winters and a 50 mile each way daily commute. The interior was nice, and well appointed for the year (obviously a lot has changed in terms of connectivity since then). For family transportation, it was always nice to have something that can hold either 7 people or 5 and a lot of stuff for family vacations. The exteriors on the newer models are a lot sharper looking, but for good, solid, reliable family transportation, you can't beat an Explorer.

Great SUV! Plenty of room for kids or luggage. Ride is comfortable and quiet. Third row seating is great!

we have to take it to the auto shop frequently for many reasons but it is a smooth driver and very comfortable but we ended up buying it twice due to the drive of repairs

We love our Ford Explorer. This is our 2nd Explorer and we would purchase again. It handles great and can hold our whole family, plus all our stuff when we travel. Very reliable and dependable.
