2006 Ford Explorer consumer reviews

We've owned the V8 XLT 4door 4x4 model for six months and love the car--it's a joy to drive. We opted for the safety canopy and reverse sensors. We had a little jerkiness with the transmission when pulling away from a stop light but brought it in to the Ford dealer. They replaced a part and since then everything has been fine. When pulling our tent trailer it has the power to pass other cars easily and whenever I've needed the power it is there.

Must go Limited Edition for best luxury value features! Smooth, quiet ride, excellent power and safety features. Had A/C problem early on causing engine to overheat for a moment, but Ford service could not isolate the problem. Seems to be working fine now. Great family car, and gas mileage is not bad for the V-8 model in this class of SUVs. GPS and DVD system are awesome!

The 2006 redesign is great. Very quite ride. The LIMITED model is the only way to go. 3rd Row seat with power seats makes for a lot of cargo options

Terrific far better than my Jaguar, very comfortable, great all round vision, good performance for a SUV. Ford should just make this and scrap the Range Rover Ford's keep up the good work

The new 2006 Ford Explorer really is the best Explorer ever! The new exterior styling is amazing. The "BOLD" new grill gives the Explorer a fresher, more aggresive look. The refreshed interior is just a great place to be. The seats are extrememly comfortable, the leather is rich, it's a great new interior. The navigation is comparable to that of a Mrecedes-Benz. Moving the gear shifter from the steering wheel column to the floor is great. The truck hanldes like a car. I have owned Explorers since 1995 and this one is the best!
