Very comfortable plea th of space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Lots of points for them to hook up their I phone and tablets to keep them powered up. Good driving position good electronic systems for drive ability.

I purchased this suv in 2014 in 2016 water pump went bad. It had been sitting in my garage with 95 000 miles for 4 yr. I can’t afford $ 3000 to replace water pump. I still owe $ 6,000 what a mess.

I ordered the vehicle in early 2011, and overall I've been very pleased. We have encountered a few problems, but I think that is to be expected with the first year of a new model. Especially since ours was one of the earliest built. We had a leak in the sunroof, and a defective, engine cooling fan, and a few other issues. All were repaired by Ford under warranty. The biggest annoyance that I have experienced is wind noise from the front windshield. I got that repaired earlier this year, and the noise is back. I'll be taking it back to Ford to have addressed. It's not terrible, but enough to be bothersome. Overall though, the car has been excellent. Very luxurious, and performs very well. I've only had it off road a few times, but it had no problems. The car performs EXCEPTIONALLY well in snow and ice. We use Hankook tires, and those have also been excellent on this car. The park assist works incredibly fast and very well, and we've actually had bystanders comment about how fast and perfectly we parked the car! The intelligent cruise control is phenomenal. I've used the vehicle to tow a utility trailer loaded with 2 ATV's, and it did a perfect job towing. Plenty of power, but it does have a significant impact on fuel economy. That's not a surprise, though, and should be expected if used for towing. The creature comforts are awesome, and all still work perfectly at 87K miles. The vehicle starts every time, and the tranny is smooth as can be. The paint is glossy and still beautiful. The HD stereo is VERY impressive. Great job Sony- the sound is fantastic! I have to say that I love the car, and it has held up very well. I expect to keep the vehicle for many more years.

We purchased our Explorer to accommodate our growing family and haul our horse. The vehicle drives extremely smooth, it had all the bells and whistles, and I love the design. With our family growing again, we're looking to sell or trade ours in, and fortunately for us it retains it's value extremely well. I'm very satisfied with the explorer and would prefer to keep it until the wheels fell off. Great SUV

Good car over all, at 130K started seeing minor glitches. Car stopped connecting to sync, bluetooth not connecting and disconnecting sometimes. Decision to shop for a new car when it failed to respond to start button, started it remotely; but quit when I touched the brake. Got out of car, locked doors, unlocked car, got in then it started and away we went. Started shopping for a replacement with a long term bumper to bumper warranty!

I have put more than 110000 miles on my Ford Explorer, and we've had an excellent experience. Good cargo space and better 3rd row legroom than most competitors, and we haven't had any mechanical problems at all other than a faulty rear-view camera that I replaced for under $300. It still feels up to date with all the technology like Ford Sync and MyFord Touch systems. I get about 19 mpg in town and 23-24 on the highway with regular gas. We're probably going to upgrade to the Sport version next.

Vehicle suffered a catastrophic failure due to the fact that Ford decided to put the water pump on the interior of the engine virtually insuring that if the pump failed, water would get into the engine and kill it. Cost is about 6K to replace the motor with a remanufactured engine and get it installed.

This car met all of my needs. It has plenty of leg room in the front and back, the ride is great. It has 3 USB ports and a wall outlet! Plus the heated and cooling seats are nice features

Love it. Traded a 2007 Ford Explorer with 145,000 miles for the 2011 Ford Explorer. Very, Very Low mileage and a great great price. Now I don't have to worry about pouring money into it any time soon.

Even though this car is 8 years old we still have people stopping to look and admire it. It is a great vehicle. Very comfortable ride and interior. The only thing we wish we had gotten was the power lift gate for the rear.
