Competive Luxury SUV
Lots of improvements to the new Ford Explorer Limited. Besides the new exterior and interior design, I found the 2013 Explorer to be feature rich with lots of new safety equipment. I don't think most buyers look at a Ford Explorer and think it's a luxury vehicle, but my last two SUV's were Range Rovers and I gotta say I like the Explorer more and it was roughly $35,000 less. Even with all the bells and whistles... nav, park assist, blind spot mirrors, sync, dual moon roof, front and back cameras, etc. you are paying way less for luxury and getting more for your money. If your a lease and dump kind of driver who can't live without the "clout" that comes with Mercedes, Land Rover, or Lexus then stick with whatever you've been driving. However, if your ego can get out of the way... the Explorer Limited will surprise you... then take a vacation with the extra cash you saved. :)

excellent suv on par with european makes
an excellent, well built and attractive suv, with many safty features. Priced very competitively, especially the Lmited full spec version that my wife has. local Ford dealership has been excellent, including advising us of Sync updates to be installed. I fully recomend this vehicle to anyone who needs an excellent SUV, and congratulate Ford on effectively competing in the SUV market

Great car but not much leg room for kids.
My only complaint about this car is the leg room for our kids. They are both in convertible car seats and my oldest son who is only 3 is always asking for more leg room. We should have tested the car with the seats in it first.

Fun to drive
I got the Explorer Sport. It has alot of power and really drives like a sports car. Not overly impressed with the Nav and Ford Synch I think it is called. It is slow and sometimes takes way too long to do what it is told to do such as find directions or to put something on your ipod. Overall, I do like the vehicle!

Kevin Taylor, our sale person was very helpful and explained the many facets of the Explorer. The General Sales Manager, Mark Malone was very professinal and helped to expidite our final decisions and transactions.

Wife LOVES her 2013 Explorer, which make me happy.
After considering a mid-sized car for efficiency, we decided that our life-style still required more room and flexibility. Safety, design, innovation, efficiency and quality topped our list. We also whittled out government bailed out companies and automakers based in countries unfriendly to USA competition (Japan and South Korea). One may say we knocked out a lot of options. What is really important to you? We believe we still have the best product without compromising on our expectations and values. The safety features on this vehicle are numerous and operate seamlessly with little detection (like AdvanceTrac and traction control). I think the automotive press may consist of too many low tech capable reviewers - the SYNC, radio, comfort controls and navigation are quite simplistic to control and operate well. We are still enjoying the discoveries of what this SYNC system is capable of performing. With this 7-seat vehicle, we are now able to participate in baseball and youth group car pools. The kids love to ride in the Explorer versus the other low-tech beheamoths and dreaded mini-vans. There are plenty of power outlets for the game devices and enough cup-holders to limit thirst and messes. Perhaps the best value is the XLT model with the Driver Connect Package and Comfort Package along with 20-inch wheels and Navigation. You get leather and just about everything else that comes in the Limited trimmed models for significantly less money. Both my wife and I are impressed with how our 3.5 liter V6 Explorer drives. It is easy to manuever and rides so smoothly. And again, it is just one of the safest, best looking and economical 7-passenger vehicles available to transport your family and friends. Drive one!

2013 XLT Explorer AWD - second day in garage
This is my first american car. The experience has been nightmarish. I bought the car on Dec 27th 2012 and on 28th December I am going on heavy traffic high way and the whole dashboard goes dark. No head lights, no blinkers, no emergency lights and screen and dashboard all dark. I could not even safely change lanes because no emergency lights or blinkers on high speed and heavy traffic highway. My family was in danger. The car is at the dealer they have still not figured out what the problem. I have opened up a case with Ford but no response. Any advise?

Most luxurious car ever!
This is an awesome car! The materials are so up-scale and soft to the touch. Everything about the vehicle is perfect! I LOVE the touch-sensitive controls, the entire dashboard is like a big touch screen. I really like the MyFord Touch, everthing is well-designed and well "thought-out". I get amazing gas mileage and power with my Explorer EcoBoost. The guage clusters are a nice thing to see around the speedometer. I DO NOT see myself ever getting rid of this car! I absolutely love it!!

Proud of myself
This is my first ford, second American brand. I am proud and happy on my decision on buying explorer XLT. I've test drove Inifinity JX, Lexus GX-460, RX-350, Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, Audi Q7 (almost bought it, but backed out because of dealer's attitude), GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and Explorer. It is great American SUV. I liked the exterior, nice leather interior (much better than Pilot). You truely get value for money. Drove 700 miles so far. Little concerned about mileage. I am getting about 16/17 in city (haven't driven on highway). but hey, I don't have to put premium gas as other SUVs that I test drove. Ford dealership was very friendly (Will never buy Audi in my life). Performance over the long run yet to be seen. I'll be ok though. Drive - Smooth drive, not much cabin noise, initially I felt front was too big, but now I am getting used to it. Drive is as comfortable as any Japanese and European SUVs. Exterior - Good looking exterior. Interior - Very good quality leather interior. Gizmos - It has right amount of electronic gizmos to play around with. Voice commands take some time to learn. Will get there. Overall, Ford has done excellent job in this SUV. No wonder they did not take the bail out money. :)
