Vehicle Overview

The F-Series Super Duty is Ford’s line of heavy-duty pickup trucks, which are available in a variety of configurations and three model series: F-250, F-350 and F-450. The truck can carry as many as six people when properly configured, and competitors include 2500 and 3500 models in the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Ram truck lines.

Two engines are available: a 6.2-liter gas V-8 and a 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V-8. Both engines team with a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission.
New for 2013
Ford debuts a Platinum edition of the Super Duty that comes standard with upscale features like a backup camera, navigation system, MyFord Touch, remote start, power-adjustable pedals, power-telescoping mirrors and 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels. The truck also gets a mesh grille surrounded by satin chrome trim as well as chrome tow hooks, door handles, mirror covers and exhaust tip. Inside, there’s a heated leather steering wheel, premium leather upholstery, woodgrain-style trim, two USB ports, A/V connection points and an SD card slot.
Exterior
A 2011 restyling brought a “power dome” hood, a bolder grille stamped with a Super Duty logo and an oversized Ford oval badge. Buyers have the choice of an extended cab (Super Cab) with a 6.75- or 8-foot box and a crew cab with four conventional doors and a 6.75- or 8-foot box. Dual-rear-wheel models are available with the 8-foot box. Exterior features include:

  • Standard trailer hitch receiver
  • Standard 17-inch wheels; 18- and 20-inch wheels available
  • Optional PowerScope towing mirrors
  • Optional power moonroof
  • Optional tubular side steps or running boards
  • Optional spray-in bedliner

Interior
The Super Duty borrows seats from the Ford F-150 pickup truck, and it offers a three-place front bench seat or front bucket seats. The bench seat is split 40/20/40, and a lockable under-seat center storage compartment is optional. A wide center console is available on models with front buckets and includes a bin large enough to hold a laptop computer. On the Lariat, heated and cooled front seats with a memory feature for the power driver’s seat are optional. Crew cab models have a three-place rear bench seat that flips up to reveal a flat cargo floor. An available 4.2-inch LCD screen in the instrument cluster shows fuel-economy information and monitors off-road and towing details. Interior features include:

  • Standard air conditioning
  • Standard tilt/telescoping steering wheel
  • Optional navigation system with SiriusXM Travel Link
  • Optional power-adjustable pedals
  • Optional Sync system

Under the Hood
The standard 6.2-liter gas V-8 is a single-overhead-camshaft engine that runs on regular gas or E85 ethanol. It produces 385 horsepower and 405 pounds-feet of torque.

The available Power Stroke 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V-8 produces 400 hp and a massive 800 pounds-feet of torque at 1,600 rpm, making it the logical choice for serious towing and hauling. The Power Stroke V-8 burns regular diesel fuel or a blend of up to 20 percent biodiesel.

Both engines work with a standard six-speed automatic transmission that incorporates Ford’s SelectShift technology, which enables driver-initiated shifts. Mechanical features include:

  • Rear- or four-wheel drive
  • Gas V-8 can be fitted to run on CNG/LPG

Safety
Safety features on the Super Duty include:

  • Electronic stability system with Roll Stability Control
  • Side curtain airbags
  • Front-seat side-impact airbags
  • All-disc antilock brakes
  • Optional rear parking sensors
  • Optional backup camera

  • Love this thing!!!!

I love my truck!!!! i have a 2013 F250 crew cab with the 6.7 diesel. Bought it with 114k and now it has 150k. It has been very reliable and I can trust it to go anywhere. There have been somethings that affect the 11-16 model years, and all 6.7 diesels. In the 11-16 model years, the body mounts WILL have to be changed if they haven't, Ford used xxxxty ones from the factory. If you option for the diesel, you WILL have to upgrade the cold side intercooler pipe, the factory on WILL fail, just a matter of when. Other than that, its a great truck, and they are truly built to last. Not bad for a truck that's almost 10years old

  • Beauty Meets Beast

Strongest towing, carrying, Ford commercial special order Super duty truck that turns heads. This was driven by an executive since new, so even tho it can work hard, it’s never had to. Reliable, quiet, powerful!

  • Plenty of power

This is a working truck not only do I use it for my daily 45 minute drive but I tow a 26 ft camper a few times a year and I hall a lot in it on the weekend because I’m a landscaper/ hardscaper that builds stonewalls and patios on the side from my full time landscaping job during the week. I love the truck it has plenty of power for now until I get a one ton for mi side jobs. I will probably never go back to a F-150

  • Best truck I have ever owned

Powerful,Reliable,Comfortable, Transmission shifts very smoothly, lots of room inside and a long bed for hauling. Great looking truck, I get lots of compliments on it. It pulls the 5th wheel with no trouble at all. The back seat can easily fit three adults.

  • Awesome truck

I wanted a regular cab and long bed F250 with 4 wheel drive. Hard to find in our area. It is everything I wanted. It will hold a whole piece of plywood or drywall. It will pull not only the boat, but a tree trimming bucket or a front end loader with a load of dirt or sand. Not the best mpg...about 15mpg hwy, but love, love, love the truck
