2012 Ford Focus consumer reviews

Great car if the transmission worked. The select-shift transmission that came in the 2012+ model years of this car had a known manufacturer design defect that is non-repairable. Ford knew about this prior to releasing this product but chose to release it anyway. They have lost numerous class action lawsuits over this and finally discontinued the vehicle.

The only good thing is gas mileage. Wheel baring less than 30000 miles. Towed in after transmission recall for modula. Had to contact mfg to get clutch replaced. Car still shudders in slow speed and accelerating. Dealer claimed it was acceptable. When warranty expired dealer refused to check it unless I pay $149. Car stinks -In shop numerous times for smell which they verified didn't know what it was. Still stinks. It's the AC.

The Focus looked cute on the outside. At 80,000 miles it started failing The steering malfuntioned making it extremely difficult to operate. $2,400, then transmission malfunction while driving, losing all power, dangerous situation! There are 5-7 recalls some serious and some minor. Ford makes it very difficult and doesn't assist with rental cars, towing, ect. Instead of apologizing and making things right they have the attitude of prove it!! I am lucky to be alive and the Ford Focus is a dangerous vehicle that Ford should take off the market.

This car met all my needs and it has sun roof too. It has enough leg space as well. Perfect car with nice color, comfort and looks!

This is a great car. It drives really smoothly, with a good pick up and good breaks. It’s a nice sized car and the gas on it is really good and cheap.

I have 410000 miles on mine and she’s still running strong. I drive 500-600 miles a day at least 6 days a week I do oil changes and tire rotations about every 1.5-2 weeks. I do fuel treatments And air filter at least once a month and basic routine maintenance I love the Focus it’s my 2nd to go over 400k miles.

I. Hate. This. Vehicle. Because it was made with a dual transmission, the car constantly slips and you have endless issues. There have been so many recalls on it that I’ve lost track on how many times I’ve had to go in and take care of them. Every few months the same issues arise and half of them “just can’t be fixed”. I’ve spent more on fixing it than it’s even worth. When I say do NOT get this car, I mean it. Even if it’s your only option.

Since I bought the car I have had problems with it. I am so ready to get rid of this car. It jerks constantly I’ve had to get it looked at every few months.

Love this vehicle. It has plenty of style and all the bells and whistles. I love the gas mileage and loving the premium sound system
