Reliable and fun to drive

I bought my Fusion Hybrid in April 2009 My mpg is 38 avg. I have almost 5000 miles on it and no problems at all. I will get better tires on it for the winter driving. It is quiet running the gauges are easy to use. Lots of room in the trunk and in the rear seating for 3 people. I did get 44 mpg on hwy driving already. I like this car well designed.

2000+ Miles

The more I drive this car the more I love it. After getting fully comfortable with the instrumentation driving is like a video game. The systems actually goads you into being a more efficient driver. The handling, comfort, looks and efficiency make this a home run for Ford.

A lot to love

I bought my Fusion Hybrid in March 2009 and have owned it about 3 months. Here?s what I like about it: High safety ratings. I get 38-39 mpg with mostly city driving. It burns no gas while sitting at a stop light or drive-thru. Smooth, quiet ride. Plenty of power. Gas engine turns on and off automatically and seamlessly. Elegant outdoor safety lighting. Classy interior ambient lighting. Dashboard display is configurable and gives real-time info on gas mileage, helping you drive more efficiently. When you turn off the car, it tells you your gas mileage for that trip. Driver?s vision package has rear view camera and rear and side sensors. Keyless entry keypad eliminates danger of lockout. Integrated navigation system has touch-screen controls for GPS, climate control and audio system. Connect Bluetooth devices to play music or make phone calls. Has auxiliary line-in jack and USB port. Play MP3 files from a flash drive. Play DVDs (audio-only while driving). Download CDs onto 10GB jukebox hard drive. Use SYNC to control navigation, audio and climate control with voice commands. Hybrid has 2 standard power points and one standard 110-volt outlet. What I don`t like: Costs a lot more than non-hybrids. Ford charges an extra $495 to get it in white. The chrome grille is actually chrome-painted plastic. There are audio controls on the steering wheel which I sometimes press inadvertently. One power point, line-in jack and USB port are located inside the center console storage and difficult to access unless you leave this storage empty. Fuel filler door doesn?t lock. Bumper-to-bumper warranty is only 3/36,000. Option packages don?t allow enough flexibility to customize your Fusion exactly as you want. FYI: The high voltage battery is supposed to last for the life of the car and Ford warrants it for 8 years/100,000 miles. It sits behind the rear seat. The battery is cooled using cabin air, so you have to be careful not to block the air intake grate in the front of the rear seat. In a wreck, the power disconnects at the battery to avoid electrocution. Bottom line: I love my Fusion Hybrid. It looks cool. It?s fun to drive. It?s fuel efficient. It?s full of fun tech toys. There?s a lot to like about it. I hope more people will buy the Fusion Hybrid so Ford can bring the price down.

Proud owner 2010 Fusion Hybrid

The safety features are what first drew me to the Fusion Hybrid. The BLIS (blind spot information system) really helps in traffic. The backup camera is so cool I back INTO parking places just because I can. I ordered my car March 31, 2009, just before the $3400 tax credit was reduced. It got here a week ago and is everything I could have wanted and more! I ran out of patience waiting for the gas guage to drop and finally filled up anyway. On my first 1/2 tank of gas I got 36 mpg, assuming the car was topped off when I got it. That will only get better. I admit I was generally focused on mpg, but by no means did I try to hyper-mile. There were times I stomped on the gas pedal and killed the leaves and vines. Every time I turn the car off it gives me a report on trip fuel economy, distance, gas used. It's fun to see that I've gone 6 miles and used 1/10th gallon of gas. The Navigation System is awesome. The Fusion Hybrid is roomy, quiet, smooth, comfortable - just incredible. The instrument panel is out of Star Wars - you can customize it to show more or less detail. After adding all the extra features (voice activated sync navigation, heated leather seats, moon roof) it was a bit pricey, especially when compared to other hybrid passenger cars. The tax credit really helps.

Ford Fusion 2010 Hybrid Rocks

We ordered our Fusion 2010 Hybrid in March 2009, taking advantage of the $3400 tax credit for Ford Hybrids before 3/31/09. We received the car last week (May), one of the first 2010 Fusion Hybrids off the lines. It is amazing. I got the vehicle loaded, with White Platinum Tri-Coat, Leather interior, all the bells & whistles, including crazy-cool Sync system, Navigation, Voice Activation for everything you can imagine -- including my iPod and my Cell Phone contacts. Great safety features & ratings, with full rear view back-up camera and alarm prompts, 911 activation on impact, front, side & rear air bags. But, the best part is driving it. Everything about the car and its dashboard and center console creates an incentive for the driver to drive efficiently. It's almost like a video game. You get more vines and leaves on the dash if you are driving more efficiently. You can see instantly if you are utilizing entirely as an Electric Vehicle (EV). My 3 sons sit in the back comfortably and easily watch the center console to see the real-time diagrams as to what part of the car is providing power -- the Gas engine, the HEV battery, the electric motor. Honestly. It's amazing. My husband and I argued all Memorial Day weekend over who got to go to the grocery store, etc. It only needs oil changes every 10,000 miles. It looks and drives like a high-end, luxury midsize sedan. What more could I ask for?
