great car for the money

I've always driven Tauruses and had great experiences with them. Our family has enjoyed our Taurus on all of our long distance trips. Air conditioning is very cold in Tauruses.

this car is alright but we bought ours from a dealer ship used and the suspension is like really bad but if the suspension was good i think this car could be probably easily be a one of the best cars we have owned. besides that it has good pep and wips up to 100 easily. thank you ford for this car

Most Practical Car

I have 150,000 miles on mine. It only has needed routine maintinance. I am looking to replace it now, and have yet to find something this comfortable and confident on the highway. It will be tough to give this car up.

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!

This car gave me nothing but problems once it got out of warranty. I needed a rebuilt transmission, driver's side window motor, new fuse block, new leather seat, new coolant tank, new ac compressor, and a new timing chain cover. This vehicle had to go.

Ford Taurus - Alright

Have had my 2001 Taurus for about a year. This is a very good car, but have had some problems with it, like with most used cars. The engine knocks, which I am being told sounds like a piston problem, which could be very problematic. The transmission is also starting to become a concern, as the transmission sends vibrating like feelings through-out the car when you hit around 60 MPH and higher, and continues to vibrate throughout that speed. The car leaks oil a little bit, but has held up very well. The brakes had to be changed around 70,000 miles, the alternator also went out at that same time and had to be replaced. Other than that, this is a fabulous car.

Very Unreliable

Bought a little over a year ago for my daughter's first car...we researched and researched and got a good deal, and it was down-hill from there. First, the hose to the gas tank and the suction system had a hole in it, we got that fixed and then another hole was found so we had to fix that and get a new gas cap, then it broke down several times and we had to replace the battery, then a few months later broke down again and the alternator had to be replaced. The features are good and the interior nice, but they no where near make up for the amount of money we have spent on this car repairing it.

My car!

The reason I my parents bought this as my first car was the high safety ratings, but I like it all around. My mom got in an accident a 2000 taurus on the highway and it held up really well. It seems to speed up pretty quickly and it's smaller size is easier for me to park than some giant land yacht type thing. Love it!
