For the best Fit, opt for the Sport

I think if I had to do it over again, I'd opt for the Sport. Though I had to stick within a strict budget and the price of the upper models were a bit out of my league, I feel like I'm missing something that people who rave about this car are experiencing that I'm not. Now, don't get me wrong. My Fit is very handy, versatile, has great styling and a fairly well-featured interior for the price point. It is great on gas and, so far, has been easy and inexpensive to service. It swallows my dog, my groceries, and the stuff I get at the home improvement warehouse without a hiccup. What's more, it wasn't treated as a "loss leader", either...Honda dealers know that these cars are popular and there is a huge community of aficionados with great affection for this little car. After 5 months with it, I would have to say that it is definitely a capable automobile. But fun? I don't know if the Base model is fun so much as it rather chooses to be good at grocery-getting and all-round reliability... I just think the Sport may be what most people are looking for when they hear extreme superlatives about the Fit. If you are thinking about buying one, drive BOTH models and then make your decision. I think if I'd done that, I'd have ended up with a more-grins version - a manual transmission Sport rather than an automatic Base. But again, I've got to stress...this is a versatile, reliable, well-built car whose interior room and consummate great overall value and general send of being well-screwed together make it a must-consider in this segment regardless.

I've driven Hondas since 1975, probably every make and model (except the sports car...can't afford it, but love it). This is my second Honda Fit, and I LOVE it. I totaled my first one when someone decided to turn in front of me, and I broadsided them. The police were amazed that I had only bruises from the seatbelts and shortness of breath from the airbag....but, I went out and bought another one immediately. Interestingly enough, I paid $14,000 for my first one, but when the insurance company paid me off, they gave me $16,000...and the car was a little over a year old! Goes to show you how well these cars resell. Again, I love my FIT, and I will drive it into the ground. Of course at my age (64 and loving it), it might last longer than I do!! I recommend this car for young and old because it works for ALL ages and requirements.

Generally my wife and I love our new FIT. It handles well, gets between 35 and 37 mpg, has great storage room, the rear seats fold up as well as down. Many places to store water bottles. Tightly built. All controls are well placed and obvious. It is very cleverly designed. And it is just plain cute. The only major negative is that the AC is very poor. The compressor cycles off and on so you alternately get warm air as well as cool air. That may be OK for the northern tier of states in the USA, but it isn't OK here in Arizona.

I have owned my 2010 Honda Fit Sport for about a month now. I just love the car. For a small car, it is roomy and comfortable. The stereo system is great with the USB port for your Ipod. The "magic seat" is phenomenal. It is amazing what you get in the is car with the various seat configurations. The gas mileage is good. I am getting about 35MPG on average, about 30 MPG around town and nearly 40MPG on extended highway trips. I do wish the gas tank will a little bigger, but another than that, I would not change a thing.

Great Commuter Car with Pep!

I love this car - it's perfect for what we needed. We already have an Odyssey for when the whole family goes out, but we needed a commuter car for us adults to use when we swap off going to work (one stays home with the kids and we take turns). It's a great little car with lots of pep... it's fun to drive, handles turns great (Fit Sport model), LOVE the USB connector so I can hook up the iPod - and the cup holder by the driver's door is a great change from the tiny ones under the dash (which this car also has - and I don't care for). The interior lights at night are nice, they glow blue. The sound system is decent with 6 speakers. Love the hatchback feature and the ability to fold the seats into all different configurations. Very comfortable to sit in - my back never bothers me in these seats (and I have chronic back problems). I notice a slight blind spot when turning around (backing up or looking to check for cars) - mainly by the headrest of the passenger and drivers' seats. I haven't tried doing much adjusting to see if I can fix that problem yet. The overall styling of the car is really sleek and sharp - I am very happy with my purchase! We were really thinking a civic would have been perfect for our needs (and I've owned one before and loved it), but I'm really happy with the choice of trying something new - the Fit will be around a long time in our family!

I have had this car for two months. I am a big dude. 6ft 3in and 320 lbs. I fit comfortably in the fit .Handling is great. I have been averaging 34-35mpg on the highway. I bought it for a daily commute of 120 mi round trip and there are a couple of large mountains I have to go over and the fit handles them well. I would like a little me power off the line but for the gas mileage I am getting I don't mind the sacrifice. overall a great commuter vehicle. only draw back is that you cant see the steering colum controls due to the steerin wheel.

The Best Small Car Around

I purchased my 2010 Honda Fit in Oct 10. I purchased it because I'm 6'3" tall and finding a comfortable small car was almost impossible until I drove the Fit. It's spunky, great to drive and super gas mileage. It also has the great ability to carry large objects with the back seats folded down. I have carried hundreds of pounds of sod ( I know, but it did the job), 8' of lumber and other building supplies in this car with no trouble. The only thing I don't like about it is the cheap interior. The price is a little higher than most compacts, but for the value it's worth it. Plan on getting another one when I'm throught with this one.

I put 39,000 miles on this car in the first 12 months. I had zero maintenance problems. I drove this car to the Florida, TX, New Orleans, California, all originating from Missouri. Now I'm at around 45,000 miles, the Fit runs like new. This is my 6th car. I originally wanted the Accord but I didn't like the Lincoln Town Car feel. I drove a Civic next and I didn't like how low the ceiling is and the small feel. I didn't want to but I said why not, and I test drove the Fit and I was surprised, it was close to perfect as a car can be without spending almost $40,000. On the highway I can get 40 mpg or up to 41 mpg if I'm cruising 65mph. At 70 mph I get 38 or 39 mpg. In town it really depends on how hard you accelerate. In warm weather 36 and 37 mpg is not uncommon. In cold weather I get around 33 or 34 mpg in town. I'm a body builder, I'm a big boy, but the Fit is comfortable. It fits 5 adults comfortably too. All of my friends were surprised when we packed in and fit comfortably and went to the club. I love how the back seats fold flat I can stick my mountain bike back there easily (with the front wheel off). Pros: Gas mileage. Comfort. Controls are natural and user friendly. Blue dash lights are pretty neat. IPOD and USB connectors. CD player has good features. Speakers are quality sound. Roomy, I can carry a lot of cargo with the seats folded down, I can even take a nap back there if I lye diagnole. Honda Reliability. top notch fit and finish. Paddle shifters are fun or can be conservative on gas when you want. Con: My chief complaint is you can hear road noise at highway speed. I was upset Honda didn't include floor mats! That's insulting. I paid $87 for the rubber Honda ones and they're okay. Not as cool a muscle car. Best thing is it was only $20 or $21 to fill up the Fit's gas tank. Now that gas is around $3 a gallon it cost me $26. But, the gas will last a long time in the Fit.

We just purchased a new 2010 Honda Fit (actually a couple of months ago). It's a really great car!! I looked at comparable cars with Toyota, Scion, Nissan, Mazda, and Kia.. we wanted a roomy economy car. The Fit had the best feel, great safety features and ratings, decent power, and so much space inside (and I'm a big guy) for the price... it's not a race car, but it has enough power, but the fit, finish, safety, and space are great.. and I personally like the styling.. feels very european. the other cars were either too cheapy feeling, to boxy, or too small inside. The Fit brings it all together at a great price.. We got the 2010 sport for 16K even + $1500 extra for an 8 year warranty!! I don't have to worry about a single thing for 8 years!! Our gas mileage so far has been around 27 or 28 mpg average.. all types of driving I would recommend this car to everyone!

My 2010 Honda Fit is my first car so I can get back and forth to college. Living in Florida, you need a car that gets good mileage and this car is wonderful when it comes to the gas. I loved this car from the first time I laid eyes on it and its performance has been excellent since then. Due to the horrible drivers in Florida, my Fit has been 110% reliable in protecting me from accidents and people that tailgate/cut you off here. Not only is the performance, reliability, and safety is great, but it has been a fun car to drive. Every aspect of this car is a pro. I have driven many great makes including Mercedes Benz, Subaru, and Toyota for example and Honda is one of the best. The only con that the Fit has is my low bumper that always tends to scrape the ground when coming out or going into a steep driveway. Otherwise, I have 0 complaints about my cute car. The interior is great, big enough for 5 people.
