IN LOVE WITH OUR COMMANDER!
Since we've been married 7 years, we have owned 3 Jeeps-2 Cherokee's and now our Commander. Jeep is absolutely one of the most reliable SUV's on the market, and the only SUV we'll drive. We traded our first Cherokee for a newer model, and then when needed extra seating, we upgraded to the '06 Commander. We love it...nothing bad to say whatsoever! We did have a couple small issues, the biggest being the starter needed replacing, as we found out alot of the 2006 models had problems with them, so we replaced it and haven't had a problem since! Had it 2 years now, and couldn't be happier, except with gas prices being so high and this thing is a gas guzzler. It does GREAT on the snow, mud...as SD winters make for awful driving conditions, I am so glad to have this to keep us safe. It drives like a dream, and we love the 2 extra seats in the way back for little ones. We have moon and sun roofs, and everyone loves it. Five stars for this Commander. Just wish they hadn't stopped making them. What a disappointment because we would have kept buying them...love the 7 seat option.

good suv but know what you are geting
the commander is a great value . Drives like a mercedes, never had one problem. total luxury for the price. it is heaven in the snow. need 4 wheels and 7 passenger nothing is better. However there are three big negatives: 1) gas mileage get 12 if lucky combined city/highway. 2) not alot of space for the size 3) two many blind spots. if you back up with third row sits up you are commiting suicide!

Design to last 70000 miles then fall apart.
Get rid of after 4 years. Transmittion leaked after 50,000 miles. Water pump at 55k need replacement. Engine started to lose compression at 70K.

Beltway Bombaster
Feel very comfortable driving it. Other car us an '04 Corvette convertible. As weather gets bad, this car comes off the road, and THE 'Commander' takes over transportation duties. Very mush enjoy both cars. Commander gives good comfortable, safe feeling with roomyness and visibility. Drive cars differently, as they have different purposes. Have the 'base' model Commander with small six cylinder. Performance not bad considering weight of the vehicle. Have not yet felt unsafe in traffic due to engine power, jus plan diferent. Uses lots of (regular) gas. Corvette does better on MPG! Working to up the MPG on Commander. Starting with the intake. Should be able to improve MPG and performance simultaneously. Sturdy vehicle. Feel safe transporting my loved ones in it. Very responsive steering. Like the look, very rugged. Try one, you will probably buy it if you can get it at the price you are willing to pay. They are in demand, and appear to hold their value.

awesome car
We were expecting our 3rd child and to sell my BMW. Got the Limited Hemi Commander and I love it! has all the room we need, to go grocery shopping I have to put down one of the the 3rd row seats so i guess that would be the only withdraw. I love the power,so easy to handle, stadium seating, soft leather. wouldn't trade it for another.

Our Best Car Yet
We were somewhat leery of buying a Chrysler product but were swayed by the Jeep's price, styling, and the standard third row seat in a mid-size SUV. GREAT vehicle - runs and looks like new with 72,000 miles. Both the wife and I agree this is the best car we've ever owned - and we're on our 10th.

Most Reliable Car I've Owned
I have driven and owned jeeps for 29 years. I bought my first one as an extra car and it had 120 miles on it and drove like a champ. I then went to the Limited with the woody siding, but this reallly was a good looking truck. Loved the car but it had service issues and even through that, I traded that one in and bought another. Since that time, I have owned 8 jeeps which included every model Jeep made. I now drive a Commander and it is a long way from the Woody Grand Limited. I have 73,000 miles and that car has been impecable, totally reliable and I just put my first set of tires on the car and have only had very 2 small issues - like a motor fan for the air and a steering sensor go bad. The car is extremely comforable, drives great and is flexible as to whether I'm moving kids around or major home depot items. The fact that all the seats can go down at any one time really gives the car flexibility. I do agree that the windshield is prone to dings but the body seems to stand the test of time and looks great. It is one of the best looking and most reliable cars jeep has made and you really feel safe in it.

LUXURY JEEP
I bought this Commander to replace my aging 1999 Cherokee. This vehicle is everything I wanted-good ride, luxury ammenities, V8 power, and Jeep off road capability. The only shortcoming of this vehicle is storage space.

Great in Snow!!
This vehicle performed extremely well in the recent Philadelphia Pa. double snow storms.I was the only driver on my block to NOT have to dig out of my parking space. I just wiped the snow off and just simply pulled out of the space. There must have been at least 25 inches on the ground. Did not have to put the vehicle in low range. All other drivers spent half the day digging their vehicles out. Not this vehicle!!
