Waste of money

I have owned my Renegade for exactly a year. I drive a lot, having put 25,000 miles on it. I am a careful and responsible driver and get my vehicle serviced at the intervals that are suggested. I have owned about 8 different vehicles in my life, some bought new and some bought used. This is my most regretted purchase. I fell in love with the looks of this SUV. I previously had a Nissan Juke, which I absolutely loved. I wanted just a tiny bit more space which I was assured, this had. For starters, the back seat space is smaller than a Juke....can't fit a carseat in without the seat all the way forward...but on to the quality issues. Within 2 weeks of buying this, new, off the lot, the power seat stopped working in reclined position. The dealership wasn't able to fix it or get me a loaner car for over a week so I was stuck getting rides to work because it was not safe to drive a 30 miles, on way commute in that position. The transmission on mine has ALWAYS been choppy and almost feels like it's slipping. I have had it looked at by the dealership and they always tell me everything looks great. The passenger side visor literally fell off and was dangling by the wire after about a month of owning the car and I rarely have a front seat passenger. This might have been the second time this mirror was used. My stereo has stopped working, randomly and it gives me a warning light and won't turn on. Then, all the sudden it's fine. I am still waiting on my appointment to have that looked at. Also, I was a a drive thru and the car wouldn't shift and said "vehicle not in park"....of course it wasn't in park because I was trying to move it. Gas mileage is a whole other issue. I expected, based on other reviews and things I had read about this vehicle, that I would get similar MPG to the Juke. The BEST I have ever gotten was 25 miles to the gallon and that was on a 600 mile road trip. My daily average is closer to 21-22 MPG. I could be driving a larger SUV or a truck for that MPG. It's very disappointing. All and all, I can't stand this car. I can't wait until I've had it another year or so and can hopefully trade it in. That's another thing worth mentioning...I paid about 30,000 dollars for the car, new and the current trade in value is only 12500. Needless to say, that's grossly upside down. The only good things I have to say about this car is that it looks cool and sporty and the driver seat is comfortable and I love the way you can really customize the adjustments.

Does Not Live Up to the Jeep Brand Standards

I decided to purchase this car because I needed something affordable, comfortable and roomy. The first 10k miles were great, it drove just fine and was an overall decent SUV. Even with regular maintenance, the car is showing major problems at 40k miles that dealerships in my area refuse to acknowledge; like the fact that the transmission slips gears (9 speed automatic) way more often than it should. I bought this car because I've always been in love with the Jeep Liberty, which it was supposed to be the replacement for (but ended up being a major let down). Also, the Sport and Latitude models do not come with a spare tire. BUYER BEWARE, this is NOT a "great, cheaper alternative" to the American-made Jeep classics. I would never recommend this car to anyone.

The Renegade is stylish, reliable, & great on gas.

I have had my eye on this vehicle since it came out. I love its unique look and the fact that the 4 cylinder engine gets great gas mileage since I commute to work. I'm so happy with the Jeep Renegade!

Living like a Renegade

I have been driving a Ford Mustang for the last 12 years and my decision to buy a Jeep Renegade was the best I ever made! Great car! Small but roomy. I love the little hidden things in the design such a the Jeep, Sasquatch, a spider, and Easter eggs. It's great! Such a fun vehicle!

'15 renegade latitude does it all

for what i need out of a vehicle, i am very happy with my renegade. it kicks off with the 1.4L turbo 6 speed manual which is a BLAST to drive. driving experience is as fun as the mini coopers but that's about as similar as it gets to the coopers. i live in denver and am up in the mountains about every weekend, year round. i've taken the renegade through some nasty off road trails (steep, mud/water, tight turns) and even more so in the snow. i tend to be an overconfident driver and the renegade has never let me down. i've driven through blizzards, driveways filled with 2 feet of snow and my fair share of icy roads. the stock wheels should be just plenty for anything you need to put the renegade through but upgrade to some all weather/winter tired and it's like driving a wrangler through the worst conditions. I love the dual sun panels and seamlessly remove these most days in the summer. the tech that comes with the nav system is quite savvy and the usb port is so useful. i've got factory all weather mats and cross bars which come in handy all the time. back up camera works very well and is a huge help. mpg's i get is actually higher than what it was listed for (usually getting 25-26 mpgs). Uconnect system is also very cool and seems top of line for the tech options out there for similar vecihles. overall, well done jeep/chrysler.

2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude

I love this car! I lived in FL at the time,of the purpose, I drive long distances and it does extremely well. Its comfortable to drive and modern interior. I recently moved to Arkansas and it did not too well on icy and snowy spots. It does concern me!!! It would have been nice to have a spare tire and floor mats. I had a flat tire and it was so bad, I had to switch tires. When I called roadside assistance they said: we can change my tire where Im at. But I had NO spare tire!! Beside that, it's the best smaller vehicle I had, also great gas consumption!!!

My New Jeep

I had a 2014 Jeep Patriot and I loved it, But I got stuck in a sand pit going to see my Lady Friend. I decided I needed a 4x4 so I traded the Patriot for a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. So far it is working out Great except I don't get the mileage promised. Aside from that it is a great car. It is too soon to judge reliability I have only had i about a month. I do love it!
