KIA KNOWS there is a major oil consumption/ burn PROBLEM.

KIA KNOWS there is a major oil consumption/ burn PROBLEM. But, will not address it unless the engine seizes up (even during high speed driving). I'm a 68 yr old woman & you're putting in danger. Then tow & may not even get the codes you want to replace the engine....all the band-aid work has been ridiculously expensive & not fixed any of the Problem. SHAME ON YOU KIA !!!!

Bought a 2016 Kia Optima in 2017 with 22,000 miles.

Bought a 2016 Kia Optima in 2017 with 22,000 miles. It was burning oil right from the start, before my very first oil change. Asked Kia service department to check for leaks and they said there were no leaks. I could not figure out why I had to replace oil between oil changes when there was no oil leaking on the ground. The engine eventually crashed, but Kia said it wouldn’t replace it because the engine seals were leaking oil and that was not a covered repair. That cost me $1,300. A few thousand miles later and the engine was finally done for good, unrepairable this time, at 104,000 miles, and again Kia would not replace it. This time under the 150,000-mile extended warranty (due to the class action settlement) they basically said, “Sure it’s a trashy engine, but it didn’t break in the way the warranty demands, so, too bad. Wouldn’t want to be you!” #*%@^ jokers (edited for family audiences). Absolutely no car having the proper recommended maintenance, as mine did, should be headed to the junk yard at 104,000 miles! At that point, every other “normal” car I’ve owned (I’ve had 11 with all reaching at least 200,000 miles except for ones totaled or stolen) still had decent resale value. The 2016 Kia Optima is the absolute worst! If you truly hate someone, recommend that they buy this car.

We bough this car used in August from a Nissan dealer.

We bough this car used in August from a Nissan dealer. There were some hidden problems that unfortunately the dealer did not disclose right away. Window regulator apparently are a problem with this car as well as engine burning oil prematurely. I performed a two-day cylinder soak and upgraded to a higher quality oil and the oil burning is no longer an issue. Apart from these problems, the car has been great for us. No other issues and the EX version is really loaded (it even has ventilated seats). Multimedia gets slow after being updated, be aware. But updates adds some features like, for example, lowering the fan speed when you get a call or ask to read a message. It is compatible with android auto and apple car play, not wireless but you can get one of those adapters.

I bought this car almost two years ago and the engine is

I bought this car almost two years ago and the engine is already gone. 200k kilometers. No indication prior to it going. I bought it at 107k. Made all my oil change appointments on time, and based on recommendation. I do not recommend. Look up the class action suits against Kia/Hyundai. I was stupid. Don't be as well.

Good but not great?

So my car is a 2016 Kia Optima SX 2.0 Turbo GDI. I bought it with just under 60K miles and am just below 85K now. It was burning oil, but once I replaced my pvc or pcv valve ($30 at O'Reilly's), runs like a peach. So uniquely updated and ahead of the game for a 2016. Tough saying if I would recommend it because a quick google search will tell you that the car will probably give out at 150K miles. Transmission is probably the worst I've ever felt but it hasn't given out yet. OEM blow off valve thing is sick.

A great vehicle

Apart from the navigation system not working correctly, there have been no problems in nearly 40000 Km. The mileage on the Hybrid appears to have changed when the system was reprogrammed, the short journey (under 2 Km) economy when new was around 6-6.5 L/100 Km it now runs about 8-9\L/100Km. On longer trips I get the lower figure stated. Is this normal? My opinion of the car otherwise is fantastic, it is comfortable with vivid acceleration good road holding and relaxing to drive.

Great quality and great value

I highly recommend this car for anyone looking for a good quality four-door four-cylinder sedan This 2016 Optima EX outperforms my 1998 Camry LE. Every bit as quiet and it’s actually fun to drive. Starting to lose a slight amount of oil with 85,000 miles on it. Engine was completely replaced and nothing out of pocket under Kia recall.

Do not buy this car.

Bought my car barely used with less than 20,000 miles. Its almost paid off & just hit 100,000 & the engine needs replaced but Kia cant tell me whats exactly wrong with it & wont fix it under the recall. I have to pay more than what's left on it just to get it fixed. The engine started knocking & the car just shut off. I had just got an oil change not even a month prior. Not worth the money, been a major burden, I still owe, & spending $ on another car. No car should go out at 100,000 miles.

WORST PURCHASE OF MY LIFE

I bought this car from butler Nissan in Macon ga, since I purchased the car it’s been burning oil I keep my oil changed like I’m suppose to even though before the oil change is due i have to add oil to it and more than a few quarts at that. I continuously have to replace the spark plugs on it because of the oil leak. Not to mention a month after purchasing it all 4 window regulators went out it’s been making a knocking noise coming from the steering column or something it’s been one thing after another since I got the car they are not at all worth the money I wouldn’t recommend this car to ANY ONE
