2016 Kia Optima consumer reviews

Apart from the navigation system not working correctly, there have been no problems in nearly 40000 Km. The mileage on the Hybrid appears to have changed when the system was reprogrammed, the short journey (under 2 Km) economy when new was around 6-6.5 L/100 Km it now runs about 8-9\L/100Km. On longer trips I get the lower figure stated. Is this normal? My opinion of the car otherwise is fantastic, it is comfortable with vivid acceleration good road holding and relaxing to drive.

I highly recommend this car for anyone looking for a good quality four-door four-cylinder sedan This 2016 Optima EX outperforms my 1998 Camry LE. Every bit as quiet and it’s actually fun to drive. Starting to lose a slight amount of oil with 85,000 miles on it. Engine was completely replaced and nothing out of pocket under Kia recall.

Bought my car barely used with less than 20,000 miles. Its almost paid off & just hit 100,000 & the engine needs replaced but Kia cant tell me whats exactly wrong with it & wont fix it under the recall. I have to pay more than what's left on it just to get it fixed. The engine started knocking & the car just shut off. I had just got an oil change not even a month prior. Not worth the money, been a major burden, I still owe, & spending $ on another car. No car should go out at 100,000 miles.

I bought this car from butler Nissan in Macon ga, since I purchased the car it’s been burning oil I keep my oil changed like I’m suppose to even though before the oil change is due i have to add oil to it and more than a few quarts at that. I continuously have to replace the spark plugs on it because of the oil leak. Not to mention a month after purchasing it all 4 window regulators went out it’s been making a knocking noise coming from the steering column or something it’s been one thing after another since I got the car they are not at all worth the money I wouldn’t recommend this car to ANY ONE

This is my 2nd Kia Optima I do not like the windows because all 4 of my windows are working itself down and they're telling me I've got to pay for this it should be a recall by Kia

64,884 Miles and the engine blew up. KIA refuses to help. Why advertise 100,000 mile warranty then refuse to fix it. When I buy a car I expect a minimum of 100,000 mikes I purchased with 21,000 miles on it. Had it for almost 5 years. So you know I don’t drive much.

My 2016 Kia optima EX with all the options is every bit as good as my 96 Camry LE. The only reason why my rating is not 5 stars across-the-board is that there is a slight oil consumption that will be fixed through my dealer. Excellent 4 door with the 2.4 naturally aspirated engine.

I had a 2015 Kia Optima that I dearly loved. I was rear ended and it was totaled so I bought a 2016 Kia Optima. At 67,000 the check engine light began flashing. I then learned that there is something built wrong on Kia Optima engines that sometimes Kia will fix and sometimes not. Another issue was my car was consuming massive amounts of oil and that was with regular, on time, oil changes. I changed the PCV valve, as I had read in forums, that changing it could help reduce oil consumption but it did not. I can not, in good conscience, recommend this car.

Overall the Optima is a reliable car, my car has 94+ miles. I was coming home from a long visit in Va just 15 miles from home in Texas the car just cut off.I got the car tolled to Kia.The service person told me that it would cost 125.00 for diagnosis check. If it under warranty I don't paid anything. Few days later I get a call that my car was not under warranty because it didn't have some kind of software upgrade. I said what was that, Kia claim that they sent the recall info to everyone. I told them this was the first time I heard about it. They at the Kia corporate office said we can't help. My problem is that I still owe for this vehicle and now I have to replace a motor. The original limited life time warranty was no good anymore. I don't think that was right because I didn't know about the software upgrade. I have always kept good maintenance on the vehicle. She was saying did you Kia. No I didn't I brought the vehicle from a different dealership. I think it was wrong because I didn't know about the upgrade. My vehicle is very important to me and that was something that I should have been told about. How many people out there that don't know about the upgrade. I was upset because I told my friends Kia is the best now I look stupid. I felt like I was betrayed. Now I'm out of a car and still have car payments. Thank Kia for causing me mental stress. So now I need to get money to fix Bae(my car).

I get the oil changed every 90 day but a week or two after I have to get a top of because it’s bone dry
