Love it/Hate it design

by Risk Taker from Toledo, Ohio on Fri Jun 24 2011

The new Lincoln MKT has many strong points and some oddities hard to get used to. Reasons why we bought one and what we like: Styling in the right color (hideous in others); imposing grille that shouts out "look at me... I'm a Lincoln"; roomy interior; quality materials; seating arrangements; unique vehicle (nothing like it); smooth ride; American made; etc. Dislikes: Staggering price when loaded; frowns from most thinking it is ugly (looks best in white, gray, red); weaker than expected engine for a car this size; too pricey for a V6 (Lincoln's should have a V8; FWD derived AWD system (Lincoln's should be RWD); complicated controls (SYNC system); etc. I would recommend this vehicle to friends, but shop around. There are great deals out there, especially on 2011 models now that '12 versions were brought out early with no changes from what I have learned.

Traveling Sales Car

by Salesman from Tennessee on Sun Apr 23 2017

I have drove aprox 150,000 miles with 2 major repairs. Both turbos went out at 120,000 and an injector went out at aprox 100,000. Both were expensive repairs with turbo's costing near $4,000. The car will absolutely fly. Does well in minor snow accumulation. Very nice with many "bells and whistles".

Most comfortable car I've ever owned.

by DanD from Brunswick, OH on Fri Aug 03 2018

This car has all the bells and whistles expected from a luxury car. AWD is excellent in the snow! 7 passenger seating with tons of leg room. Priced well below similar cars.

Great luxury car.

by Terry from Chetek on Sat Oct 21 2017

This is a great luxury car. It has a great ride, all wheel drive, turbo charged engine, and towing capabilities.

Great care for the money!

by TylerC from Lindon, UT on Tue Sep 12 2017

Honestly, I don't really prefer the design for the rear of this vehicle. Everything else, however, is amazing. It's a great car to drive and much more affordable than you might expect for a luxury class car.

Our Take on the 2011 Lincoln MKT

The MKT is an impressive combination of performance, utility, technology and even affordability among its competition — and I want one in my driveway.

When I reviewed the MKT when it debuted for 2010, I was smitten with the massive, pseudo-luxury people-hauler. Sure, its looks are beyond polarizing. Considering I'm one of the only Cars.com editors who likes the styling, I'd say you have a one in 10 chance of finding someone of a similar mind. Good luck getting your spouse to sign up.

Not much about the MKT has changed for 2011, but that's typical just a year after a new car debuts. To check out the few changes, go here.
