Expert 2019 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid review

Our expert's take
By Cars.com Editors
Full article

What Is the 2019 Lincoln MKZ?

The Lincoln MKZ is a mid-size entry-luxury sedan that seats five. Power comes from a 245-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder or a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 rated at 350 or 400 hp. Both engines team with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the MKZ offers front- or all-wheel drive. A front-wheel-drive gas-electric MKZ Hybrid is also offered. Competitors include the Acura TLX, Lexus ES and Volvo S60.

What’s New on the 2019 Lincoln MKZ?

New standard active safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rain-sensing windshield wipers are also now standard, and the MKZ Hybrid gets standard adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.

What Features in the 2019 Lincoln MKZ Are Most Important?

Standard features include an adaptive suspension, 18-inch aluminum wheels, rear parking sensors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, remote start, a push-button gear selector, a touchscreen multimedia system, heated front seats and a split-folding backseat. Available features include a power-adjustable steering column, a power trunk lid, a heated steering wheel, navigation, a choice of two Revel premium stereos, leather-trimmed seats, heated rear seats and inflatable rear seat belts.

Should I Buy the 2019 Lincoln MKZ?

The extra standard safety features are a welcome addition, and the MKZ has easy-to-use tech features, too. We like how the fuel-efficient MKZ Hybrid has the same starting price as the regular MKZ. There are some questionable design choices, however, like the car’s push-button gear selector.
