Impressed

I was nervous buying a car this size after driving a small compact for the last 20 years. Looking behind me from the drivers seat, the car seems so big, but it definitely handles very much like my small 2 door coupe. So far so good!

Best CUV available

This is my first car that is utility oriented. I used to autocross and track my cars. It was time for me to get something with more cargo room and passenger seats. I never liked the poor MPG of SUV/CUV's. When CX-5 came out the first thing I noticed was high MPG numbers. It was unbelievable. In fact, there were no other SUV that came close. I went and test drove the 6 speed manual first but it was not what I expected from Mazda. I have had few miata's and their manual tranny had raised my expectations too high. When I test drove an automatic tranny CX-5, it felt good for an automatic. 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd gear shift happens very early in the low rpm ranges unless you stomp on the pedal. Ride quality is very compliant. The seats are very comfortable. knobs and levers are positioned just perfect. The four disk brake grabs like sports car brakes. I have been getting 30.4 mpg for my daily 20 mile commute which is 50/50 city/hwy. Cool feature: The 12V outlet in the front provides power only when the car is on. However, the 12V outlet under the center armrest is on all the time which is very convenient for charging my iPhone. Con: The windows don't get power as soon as the engine is turned off.

A gem in a crowded market

Great style, comfort, features, and value. Had a super dealer, Mazda of Everett in Washington. Love the Bluetooth & radio features, leather and heated seats. but mostly, the comfort, style, and GREAT mileage. Nice to have the 170+ ponies with the new 2.5 liter. Looking forward to the first road trip. Added some goodies: all weather mats, cargo liner, roof cross bars, and OEM mud flaps. Handles great, quiet, and has the blind spot side mirror alert, plus a great backup camera..

2014 Mazda CX5

I am seriously overwhelmed with the quality and forethought that has gone into my CX5. Amazing amount of interior space for a small exterior. Amazing power from the 4 cylinder egine and no strain in passing or climbing the mountains here in Colorado.

Exceptional value

This is my third CUV and by far it is the best. My other two, a rav4 and a Vue were good vehicles but thie CC5 is heads and sholders above them in quality and value. I have owned my 2014 GT with Touring package for 7 month and 8,230 miles .. In a mix of 70% city and 30% hway, have never gotten less than 30.7 MPG. Highway driving it gets 37 - 39 MPG. The ride is comfortable and quiet. The car is reliable, the only shop time has been for oil change. I test drove Honda and Toyota during my search, the CX5 is the best of the three. If you are looking for a small CUV, the Madza CX5 deserves your attention!

only had a month, waiting for m's

been very pleased, like to own longer for overall opinion. motor is strong enough, not seeing rated gas mileage. suspension is tight, little bit rough ride but hugs the road. styling is tops. looks so good next to other suv's.

Best for the money

Have had the Grand Touring a month now (1800 miles). Trip to Reno averaged 30.2 MPG at freeway plus speeds. Everything works great. Nav system is pretty basic but worked OK. Love the Blind Side Monitor and Active Headlight System (lights follows curves). Active brake system worked once after an idiot stopped on a freeway exit when he became confused. Sirius radio really handy away from towns. IPOD input also great. Trip display is fun, especially if you want to watch your gas mileage. I drove the new Forester, CR-V and RAV-4. Still think the CX-5 is the best overall choice. I would like to see bigger door pockets (maps etc.) and A/B memory drivers power seat.

Quality Buy

I am very pleased with the purchase I have just made. The CX5 has plenty of interior room, an excellent exterior look, and at this point in time, I am very pleased with its overall performance.

CX-5

If you need the convenience of an SUV but you want economy, comfort, styling, performance and reliability you can't go wrong here. Could even pull a small boat comfortably.
