Very satisfied driver and family
The Cx5 2014 has the highest safety rating in its class. I have been getting consistently 30 MPG with mixed driving of city and highway. On a recent trip out of town I got 35 MPG on the highway. Seating comfortably for four adults and one car seat for my three year old granddaughter. The ride is quiet and super smooth. It handles as well as my Mazda Miata! This is our fourth new Mazda! We still have the other three a 2000 MPV, 2000 Miata and a 2005 Madza 6! These cars zoom zoom forever! That's 34 years if driving worry free.

Great Car
Ive had mine for about 4 weeks now and just love it. I got the Grand Touring AWD and it handles great and is fun to drive. I traded in a 2010 Camaro SS (needed AWD and towing capabilities) and was really worried that I would feel like I was driving a slow bus, but that hasnt been the case at all. It has good pick up for what it is and overall I really enjoy driving it. I also bought a new Sea-Doo Jetski and it tows it up the Rocky Mountains without any issues. Overall, I am really happy with my purchase. Pros - Looks / Styling - Fuel Economy - Comfort Cons - Tom Tom Navigation system is not the greatest - iPod feature, scans your iPod every time you start the car and doesnt remember the song / album you were listening to when it was turned off.

New Mazda owner - Was SO excited......
We purchased a 2014 CX-5. After owning it for 13 days it started to shake/shudder/temor/vibrate - what every you want to call it I immediately brought it back to where I purchased it and after they kept it for almost a week, they said they fixed it. I was in the car 5 minutes and it was back. So it went back again. Fast forward another 2 trips back and forth and now they tell me its a normal characteristic of the vehicle. - SERIOUSLY? I took it to another dealer and they are telling me the same thing? SO BASICALLY - MAZDA BUILT A CAR THAT SHAKES WHEN ITS IN IDLE. That is the story they are going with. I urge you not to purchase this vehicle. Beside the shake you do not get CLOSE TO THE ESTIMATED MILES PER GALLON. I'm lucky if I get 260 miles per tank. That's about 22 MPG (City/highway mix)

Perfect Short Trip SUV
I spent several long days researching small SUV's online and decided to check out Mazda CX5, Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue. I didn't like the Toyota interior and the bad rear visibility of the Nissan, but the most important issue became blind spot monitors. I learned I'd have to step up to a more expensive trim line on Toyota and Nissan but could get all the features I wanted on the Touring model of Mazda CX5. I've driven my new car for 6 weeks and love it. The ride is comfortable, motor is powerful and there is plenty of space for my 6'2" husband. Best of all the blind spot monitors are just what I wanted. I'm also using the back-up camera but it takes some getting used to. During my search I did have trouble locating a car with light colored interior. Black is not good in South Florida. When I found a tan interior I bought it and I couldn't be happier.

Have owned less than a week.
But, it's a good looking car, and I was attracted to the MPG, which is the best I found in this category. Still getting familiar with it, and didn't want to rate a couple of categories as excellent, since I haven't owned it long enough.

One of a kind
Very satisfied with our GT AWD. Love the looks and the fact you don't see it every day like the Rav4 or CRV. Our mileage has been as advertised and even better on the highway, as high as 30-31 first two tanks of gas with the AWD is great, you will not get that out a Sante Fe which was our next choice. Only dislike is you do have to move seats forward to get back seats to fold completely flat. Can't wait for winter to try out AWD. Car looks great and handles great. My wife constantly says how tight the steering is and how smooth it drives.

Mazda CX-5 1st crossover & new vehicle in 20yrs
The ride is great the value is great and the functionality is great. Other than not having the greatest experience from the dealer the car drives and handles well, gets great gas mileage for the class it is in, and has an incredible front view and with all the safety features such as blind spot indicator and backup camera. My only issue is that the information, navigation screen should be larger, but given the overall value of the vehicle, it is not a heck of a lot to complain about.

Great Car, Great Price
I needed to trade in my college clunker for a more family suited car. We just had a baby and have a dog who's only 1.5 years old so more space was a must. However, we live in Boston so couldn't get anything too big because spaces are small and parking is limited to begin with. This car fit the bill! I can put my whole family in there knowing its one of the safest rated SUVs on the market and still looks sporty. (no Mom van for me... ever!) Performance wise it's a great ride, smooth and tight handling. The only thing I wish it had was a little more oomph when I hit the gas. I went from a standard transmission so I had a little more control on the initial power boost. The rest is just amenities, add-ons, and they're great additions. Bluetooth in the stereo system is responsive and interfaces great with my phone/pandora/gps. I highly recommend this car.

Great small SUV
After driving full size SUVs for the last 14 years I decided it was time to downsize my vehicle. The Mazda CX5 is very roomy inside and fun to drive. The all wheel drive touring model turns on a dime, accelerates nicely and is very quiet inside. I don't like the way the driver's seat adjusts. It's supposed to go up and down or back and forward. When you adjust the seat back from the steering wheel it also puts the seat down. And, if you adjust it toward the steering wheel it also raises you. Having driven a Chevy Traverse that the seat worked correctly in I find this very annoying. I still haven't found a comfortable driving position. I love the blind spot alert feature and the back up camera. I only have a little under 1000 miles on it so far and the gas mileage is at 22mpg which I expect to increase. So far, I am impressed with my new Mazda!
