Fun, Jazzy, Sporty, Super in snow, Love it!

The CX-5 is just the right size. I initially had the CX-3 and found the interior just a smidge too small (as well as the gas tank). With the CX-3, you had a choice .. use the arm rest, OR have a spot for your drink cup. The CX-5 is better for us in all ways except the gas milage is no where near as good as the CX-3. Both cars are great on bad roads whether it be slushy, snow packed, or in rain. Love my Mazda - and love the dealership where we made the purchase as they have taken excellent care of us before and after the purchase of both vehicles ... Manny at Gladstone Mazda is second to NONE.

Excellent. SUV for the money; fun car to drive

We bought the 2016.5 CX5, grand touring AWD in early January '17 after test driving just about every compact SUV on the market. We're absolutely delighted with our purchase. The car comes with all the latest gadgets; really like the lane-change warning, backup camera, bright headlights, keyless entry, just to name a few. We love the simple and clean interior; no faked wood panels or shell-looking panels (as in the Rouge). The car is actually fun to drive, especially in sports mode. We made a 175-mile highway trip in the snow and the AWD performed beautifully and competently. Incidentally, we got 30 mpg on the freeway. The front seats are comfortable; love the heated leather seats. Two adult passengers over 6' fit comfortably in the back seats. I was suitably impressed by how much stuff we were able to carry by folding down the back seats. Not as much as in our old Dodge Grand Caravan naturally but still pretty darn good, no complaints from me. We love everything about this car. It's really a great buy for the money. We opted for the 0 percent interest financing deal from Mazda. How can you beat that? There are 2 things I would like to see Mazda improve on: the stereo system is not nearly as good as the one in our old Caravan, which is 18 years old. Also, I would like to see an option for the automatic lift gate. When we were shopping for this car, we were going for a "luxury" SUV, I love the Mercedes GLC300 and my wife the Volvo XC60. There was 0 inventory for the former meaning you have to wait months for one and the latter is due for a total refresh. We saved a ton of money with the CX5 and got a very nice vehicle. With any luck in this sizzling stock market, I might even make some money with Mazda's free loan before it's all said and done :-).

Eats for breakfast major known SUVs

I was looking for the benzin (petrol, gasoline you say) vehicle. I tried major known SUVs in Germany: Ford Kuga, Mitsubishi Outlander, Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, BMV X-Series, VW Tiguan, Seat Ateca, Skoda, Hyundai, KIA, Volvo, Mercedes, Audi Q-series etc. Even Dacia Duster. Yep, I did that too, why not. I was looking for manual transmission (in US called "stick"), since in Germany we simply hate automatic cars. Also since we drive with an unlimited speed and if your car cannot move faster than 120 km/h (75mph) then you will get someone in your back right behind blinking you "Go away off my way!". Average cruise speed in Germany is 150-160 km/h (95-100 mph). My car was Jahreswagen (year's car), used by Mazda office, already ran up to 10.000 kilometers (or up to 6.200 miles). Soyou value a car by a balance money/value. Say, Volvo or Audi might be more cool, but they also cost thrice more. If money is not your question and you are Bill Gates, then go get Audi or BMW. But even that, Audi Q5 for a reasonable price will have here only 150 hp (versus 165 hp on CX-5). But you won't get lots of value from Dacia Duster either, as it is not a "cheap car", but "cheaply built car". For 18K EUR price tag it should be done much better quality that this. And 18K EUR is a decent money. If Dacia would price it for 5K EUR, then it would be amazing car and probably top-seller. So here I am saying that CX-5 kills its rivals by price/quality/features/up-keeping balance. Ford Kuga, Mitsubishi Outlander and VW Tiguan are completely a no-go (Ford has horrid support and is expensive at fuel, Outlander eats way too much fuel and so high CO2, and Tiguan is just a tractor from the corn field), while Toyoda and Honda are simply very under-powered. Hyundai and KIA are decent cars and looks more cheaper, however their support is absolutely no-go from price tag (and you will need it very often!). So Mazda CX-5. My CX-5 runs 110-120 mph with no much problem, GPS works perfect, sound system is great, all-LED lights are super-bright, sensors for rain and others works wonderful, seems almost everything is in order. The only issues I have so far is that MP3 on USB stick can freeze up the player, causing the whole thing crashing and rebooting. I don't know the problem yet, but I suspect dying flash memory, since USB stick is very old. Still it should not crash the whole thing though. I don't use mobile on the road as we tend to focus on driving, not answering phone. Maybe that feature also crashes, but I don't know. :-) One little bonus hint for you, in case you don't know: if you are not satisfied that MP3 player uses your directories as a play lists and you want to use own playlists in your USB stick for your MP3 files, the easiest way is to use Windows Multimedia Player, which can create playlists (WPL files). Simply create the playlist directly on the stick, so the paths will be relevant to the drive. The M3U works too, but only extended version (EXTM3U) with the tags in it. Don't forget to fasten your seatbelts and drive accurately. :-)

On the Fence

This is a great looking car with superb gas mileage. I would absolutely LOVE this car if it wasn't for Low Profile tires. I don't know how other people don't feel it. I feel like I'm sitting on a dryer. Its so bumpy. You feel EVERYTHING. You cannot change out the tires. They have thin rims which can be easily bent if you run over old railroad tracks too hard or hit a curb. And the tires are over $300 EACH. The inside is really nice. The heated seats are wonderful. And the sunroof is a lot of fun. The seats are a little uncomfortable. I saw that in the reviews and thought oh that wont happen with me. Well, even my neighbor who is about 120 lbs says they are uncomfortable when she was at the dealer with me. Driving long distance is a rough one. The infotainment system is really easy to use. Although the radio is not the greatest. Alot of times I get static and if I pull up at a traffic light a little more I get a better signal. Never had that problem before. The Navigation system is wacky. It sends me some freaky ways when all I have to do is go about 50 feet up the road and I'm at my destination. Or it takes me a round about way no matter if I put it on short distance or economical. Windshield wipers you can set to auto where it wipes with the amount and speed of the rain. I don't like that. I like a certain wiper interval. The auto is unpredictable and you have to wait until it decides to wipe. Could be 12 seconds or 5 seconds. Depends on how hard its raining. I believe the gas tank is 14 gallons. And you really don't have to change oil until 6,000 miles unless you drive it hard. Overall a great car despite the tires.

Morries Mazda Chippewa Valley

I recently went in for an oil change and had the best service. The staff are always friendly and the waiting area is comfortable. This is my second Mazda and I love it! Austin S., in sales, is very friendly and goes out his way to answers questions, or find the color of the CX5 that I wanted. I would highly recommend both Austin S and the Service Dept at Morries if you are looking for a car or car service!

Trim Features Make NO Sense

I was recently forced to make the decision to part with my paid-for 2011 Tribute, with only 80,000 miles on it, because the FORD-designed suspension was falling apart and I was hemorrhaging money on repairs. It looked like the CX-5 would meet my needs and, for the most part, it does. But it's the little things that drive you nuts. I do NOT understand why I just paid almost $30k and do not have automatic on/off headlights- something that's becoming standard on even cheap cars, something which I had on my Tribute, and something which the CHEAPER trim of the CX-5 has. Get this: you buy the cheap Sport trim, the auto headlights come standard. You pay $3000 MORE for the Touring, they DON'T. You pay ANOTHER 3 grand or so for the Grand Touring, voila, you're back to automatic headlights as standard equipment. Had I known this, I'd have never bought this vehicle. It's too late now. Plus, the sight lines for this car just suck- especially compared to the Tribute.

New to Mazda, happy so far

I have the 2016 Mazda CX5-GT. I've never had a Mazda before, always Honda (one CRV that I loved and two Pilots, loaded, that I would also highly recommend) but I'm not a fan of the new CRV styling and can't afford another Pilot at present time so was looking for something stylish, that was all-wheel drive, that could carry two kids and two hockey bags in the back. I was also looking for the toys that I've become accustom to like Nav system, bluetooth, heated seats etc... I researched for months and drove a ton of vehicles from small pickups like the Frontier and Colorado to the Jeep Wranglers and Cherokees... I'm 6'2" and the CX-5 looked a little small to me but once I got in to it and drove it I realized there's a ton of room in the driver's seat and more than enough room for my kids and their hockey bags in the back. I've had it for three months and I can't complain about anything. Some reviews say that the infotainment system is confusing but I couldn't disagree more, it's very simple for anyone that has the capacity to handle a cell phone or computer, I would say that I actually like it better than Hondas.... If I had to make a couple small complaints it would be the lack of a power lift gate (which I really don't miss that much but for the money it could be there) and the lack of outlets for electronics in the back seats... It stinks that way... There are no outlets for the kids to charge ipads in.... But that's reaching really... I just make sure they're charged before road trips. I think the style of the vehicle is excellent but the interior styling is in my opinion Excellent... Gauges are very simple which I like and the engine is "Good enough"...I do a ton of highway driving and never have a problem passing people... I traded in a BMW 3 series for this so it's just an adjustment ...Overall I would recommend so far.... I'm hoping to keep it for a long time so I can write about dependability later

Oh Ya

The interior is like a comfy, midsize, trailer though back seat heaters would be good . It looks really, really sporty and it is! The 2016 IIHS test it is the safest SUV in the world. OMG! It has good all- wheel drive and awesome handling . Finally it's great for going on long trips.

So happy

I absolutely love my new CX-5 Touring. I'm glad I went with the fancier model. I love features of navigation, backup camera, heated seats, power seating, pandora option, the quality of calling from my car is fantastic. I love the keyless entry and you can set the car to lock when you walk away. I also forgot and left my lights on and it automatically turns the lights off for you. The blind spot monitor is also handy. The only negative I have found is there isn't an interior latch to unlock and open the trunk which is odd and a bit annoying. Other than that I LOVE my new car. I like my husband's huyndai Tuscon but I get car sick in it. I'm short so I can't see over the hood much. In my mazda cx-5 I can adjust the power seat perfectly and even though it is a bigger car than what I am used to I feel like it fits me perfectly.

Are new 2016.5 Mazda CX-5

Our new CX-5 is a blast to drive. Seats are a little firm but comfortable. Car handles great and is pretty smooth over rough surfaces. We thought for sure in order to get great gas mileage you would have to sacrifice performance. Not true with the CX-5 you have plenty of pep and still gets great gas mileage. Carl and. Jen A.
