Best Sedan I've Owned. Period.

Loved the car the first time I drive it. Technology is well thought out and the heads up display is very helpful. It handles very well and the 184 HP 4 cyl has plenty of power. Mileage is outstanding as well! I have the Grand Touring with the Premium and Safety packages. Highly recommend......

Most fun under 20,000

Love this car. Exceeds all expectations. Bought a new one for only $500 more than a used one with 30,000 miles. I absolutely love cheap cars but this car does not come off as cheap. It is quite refined and quick for what it is.

So far so good!

This car, for the price, is probably one of the best and more reliable purchases I've made. I purchased a 2017 2.5 Touring. It looks stylish, the interior and exterior looks that of a way more expensive car, it handles great and has a ton of safety features. I purchased the 6-speed so my gas mileage decreased from my previous 2007 3 by a bit, but that's more from the way I'm driving this fun car vs the car itself.

great car, safety awarded

Only negative, little leg room for a tall person in backseat. Look at many cars but the mazda was the right choice.

Love this car!

Very smooth ride! Great support in the seats, all the controls are at your fingertips, steering is VERY responsive, great sound system and voice activated controls wk very well. No problems at all so far! Best car I've owned! Only drawback is that it didn't come with a CD player, but this is the digital age and I can easily wk around that by converting my CDs to mp3 and using the usb or bringing my portable CD player and using the auxiliary input. It's a little bigger than my last Mazda (a 2000 Protege which I had for 15 years!) but gets a little better gas mileage.

Love the Mazda 3

This is our third Mazda, and best yet. First two were a 2005 6 Grand Touring, V6 5 speed. Excellent vehicle. Second was a 2011 6 Grand Touring, auto (manual no longer available with GT trim level). We were a little bored with the auto in the 2011, and traded it for a brand new Mazda 3 in the Grand Touring package with 6 speed manual. One of the few cars available in the top trim level with a manual. Black interior and beautiful Soul Red paint. The ride and handling is great. The seats are very comfortable. The interior design is great and control setup is simple to use. Over 35 mpg without trying very hard. Highly recommended, and it is no surprise this car is routinely on the best lists for most magazines. Much better car than a Corolla, Cruze, Focus, Elantra, etc. On par with newest Civic, but the Civic is rather strange looking. The Mazda 3 is much better looking than all of the competitors.

A classy, fun-to-drive commuter with an edge

I absolutely love my Mazda 3 Sport Hatchback. The design is stunning, the handling is great, the reliability is solid, and the overall feel of the car is just the right mix of sporty and classy. Sure, there are some things left to be desired, such as a better infotainment system and more options in the lower trim models. Also, the handling at high speeds can feel a bit slippery, but I took care of that problem by swapping out the standard Mazda 16 inch alloy wheels for some Drag DR-55 18 inch alloys, which improved the handling tremendously, and also added some extra edge to already eye-catching exterior design. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a solid low to mid-range commuter. Some competitors offer better options in terms of technology (like the Kia Forte) or reliability and safety (like the Toyota Corolla), but the Mazda 3 remains near the top of the list for vehicles in its class for a reason. It's edgy, economical, and most importantly, fun to drive.

poor visibility

I test drove the Mazda 3 on the highway. Even though I thought the mirrors were adjusted correctly, it was like passing cars were invisible. I didn't see one until it was right next to me and I saw it out the driver's side window. The same happened on the right passenger side when I was trying to exit. A friend had the same experience. I wanted to buy this car, but don't feel safe after this experience.

Great value for money

Fun to drive and very comfortable. The only thing I really could quibble about is that I wish the speedometer was just a tad bit bigger/more readable.

Not what I hoped for.

The new Mazda 3 has been a let down. The "features" are the main problem. First off, check your car window before buying. Mazdas used to be Japanese, but I found out the one I got is 60% made in Mexico. I prefer Japanese built over everything else, which is why I abandoned Toyota for Mazda in the first place. Ok downsides, I drive manual only because I like to be in control of the car. The driver assist features pretty much ruin this for me. The car doesn't turn how you want, won't roll backwards at all and does not accelerate properly. The car takes over and makes "adjustments" I don't think this can be disabled. There is also no key, it's push button only, no radio, it has a tablet interface that is connected to EVERYTHING in the car, and no parking break, it has a electronic button for that too. These all work now, but 5 years down the road I am assuming they will break being made in Mexico and I don't even want to imagine how high the repair costs will be.
